I also think it was great! If I had to criticize, I would say that the higher notes should be 'conquered' clean first and then add distortion for the effects. So, try and hit them clean...open throat...and see if you dry up that way. Keep up the great work! cheers!

Hi, I'm going to say that you have great tone, and good pitch and I would like to hear you sing in your mother tongue. For the English song, I would recommend you work on your accent and vowel pronounciation. I couldn't really understand what you were singing. cheers!

Ron, I have SS ...from Brett...and the message I got is that Speech Level singing means that we shouldn't have to exert ourselves when we sing any more than when we speak. Don't need to push or do anything weird to get notes out. Sometimes we talk louder than other times but to accomplish that we aren't doing anything different with our bodies physically. BUT...to sing, we need to annunciate more, hold notes longer (than talking) and find the right vowel modifications to make it pleasing for the listener. If we talked like that, it would sound very strange. Hope that made sense!

vowel modification helps ALOT when trying to get the right pitch and also help with higher notes. Singing "lightly" is harder than just belting it out. It has to have the intensity but the volume is adjusted. Also, lightly doesn't mean it should be sounding 'airy'. I think you're holding back a bit as well....I mean being a bit shy because you are being recorded. It's hard putting ourselves out there but remember, we want to hear you at your best as the audience. There are lots of posts on this forum about vowel modification. Do some research on that as we don't sing like we talk. You will be amazed at how much it helps! Relax and remember what story you're trying to get across to the audience. Make the story interesting to listen to. You are talented....just needs a bit of tweeking. Cheers!

I think what Frankie is trying to say is that singing along with the original singer will always be easier. When we do this, we are always a split second after the singer starts to sing therefore we "hear" the pitch first and then duplicate it INSTEAD of producing the sound ourselves. We can do this 'singing along' thing forever and really not improve much. If we really want to get some advice and we really want to improve ourselves, find someone that can play and sing along with them or get karaoke tracks to sing to. Otherwise, you are just spinning your wheels. We are not telling you to stop.....just take the next step my friend. cheers!

Hi, I actually like them ALL. They show a different approach and sound to the same song! Kudos to you for doing all this work and showing it to us. I also try and 'own' the song before I attempt different approaches and sounds to add flavour. I especially like #5 because it shows different octaves. Hi, Without "seeing" you sing, I am hearing that the challenge with pitch lies in the vowel modification and in dropping the jaw a wee bit more when singing. It sounds like your mouth is not quite open enough in other words. I say this because when you do open up with the larger higher parts, the pitch is good. Changing the vowel slightly will help with the delivery of the note as well. Steven Fraser has a post about this somewhere on this forum. He posted it not that long ago. Timing is about relaxing into the song. Feeling it...being one with it. I think also if you relax, alot of the other stuff will fall into place as well. Hi, If you're not playing an instrument, maybe tap your foot to the beat to keep in time with the song. You're a bit ahead of the song in the beginning. The only other thing for me is putting a bit more edge to help it sound more like rock. Otherwise, pitch sounds good to me and the singing is very good! Keep working! :cool: cheers!

some pros...ie: Celine Dion have alot of control. Some rockers don't....but remember...they are in professional studios with LOADS of equipment. Use the mic a bit...back up a couple of inches when you are singing louder. The more you play with that with your home studio, the more you will know how to control sound more. :)
