  1. That was great! Do you have any tips how to keep larynx neutral? I have been doing many excercises and still have a huge problem with that.
  2. I like it too. Yes, very good you did it your way, sounds theatrical as you said. Which key is the song in?
  3. Felipe, what a great version! I love Savatage and Jon Oliva's Pain are fantastic too. GuitarGeorge, respect! You did very well on the guitar, it's not easy to play Chris Oliva's solos. I've always thought Zak was a perfect singer for Savatage. I love both Jon's and Zak's voices. i had to download it:)
  4. Thanks Ron. I became like this too nowadays. But I know how sensitive people can be about their voice. constructive critique can help us realise what we do wrong much quicker. You're right about the terminology. Some teachers emphasize the mix while other say it doesn't exist and they are all right. I tend to believe in "fake it until you make it" a bit and that another failure brings us closer to success unless we give in.
  5. I like your voice. Timing is the issue. You seem to be ahead of the beat.
  6. I was about to say that the song sounded too low for you but I'm learning myself, so not always sure of my suggestions.
  7. GuitarGeorge, I guess you're right, it must have a lot o do with confidence and attack.
  8. Thank you I've been working on it for quite awhile but there is still a lot to improve. Guitar is tuned down to D because I couldn't sing higher. The tempo is 190bpm and it wasn't supposed to be epic/power just faster heavy rock with anti war lyric. Perhaps I could raise it to 200bpm but some parts may become hard to play. The vocals definitely lack power. I have 8 songs so far for this new material. Most are mid tempo. Thanks for the tips. Do you play any instruments?
  9. Hej George, Thanks for you comment and good words. Yes, you're right I was reading it :D
  10. ronws I meant that it seemed it could be improved in those spots, you must be right about pitches, very good job nevertheless. Very hard to play and sing at the same time but on the other hand it helps sometimes to imagine notes for me. But to coordinate rhythms is hard.
  11. Great work! very good composition. Reminds me of some post black metal bands Aquilus - Griseus (you can listen to it on youtube) for example or Arcturus and Anathema too a bit. Singing/voice fits in very well too.
  12. Thanks a lot Batsinthebelltower! I'd like to listen to your music too. This is just a demo guitar sound, I have much better settings but need to buy a more efficient computer first. We will definitely get there! Thanks a lot gruemanticus! I'll keep working on the voice. I'm really happy that you liked the voice, there might be hope :)
  13. It seems to me that for example 1:43 in the word IN and 2:29 "just say goodnight". But you'd have to import the vocals into a tuning program to be able to see exactly. It was just a feeling I got when listening to it.
  14. Sounds good only out of tune in a few places. You need to work on that I think.
