Hello everyone!

I've been working on this cover for quite some time, I think I've got it to a place where I can share it. Still not 100% with it but would like to know what you guys think about it.

If you have the time and the will, please take a listen. I take all criticism so you can be too specific or too generic :P

Link below, thanks to everyone who takes a listen!

Edit: New link to a better mix.

Saw this one had no replies yet, so I took a listen.

It's pretty cool. Subtle vibrato. Builds up to a little intensity at the end. The emotion is there. All I would really say is maybe just work on holding those notes at those parts where you increase the volume a bit and hold the words at the end of some of the phrases, like at 2:59 and the couple places you do that kind of thing afterwards.

What do you think still needs to be changed?

Hey Gsoul, thanks for listening!

Oh alright, I will try to think about that. The one at 2:59 was actually the only one that was intended :D I was going for a little bit of a desperate feel, but I could hear myself doing that in other parts of the song where it just kinda happened.

I guess it's just polishing to be done now, I'm actually quite happy with this. I also got some help with the mixing so I will change the link to the "newer" version, still the same takes though.

I liked it and don't really have any technical points to add or pointed critique about "artistic choices." What is interesting is that while one would most expect to hear Miles on this, you voice, to me, as sound similar to Kiske and a few others with meaty voices. Which I mean as a good thing.

@ronws Hey man, thanks for the listen and I'm happy that you like it! I don't really know who Kiske is, is it Helloween's singer? I will have to check him out to see the similarity :)

@Felipe Carvalho Thanks man, glad you liked it and also thanks alot for the help with mixing! Made it alot more solid. Will try to go for EVEN BETTER quality in my next recording regarding musicianship and expresiveness so it's not so LAME :P

Yes. I think your voice is tres bon, sehr gut, ausgezeichnet, muy bueno. I forget how to say it in japanese and chinese.

Great job, Mivke! I love this song.  Did my own version of it a few months ago here.  I was happy to see someone else doing it here as it seems even most of my musician friends don't know this one! Keep up the great work man. You've got a really nice tone to your voice. Good stuff!

Great Job Mivke, Just a tad on the slow side(speed wise not Technique wise). I find that when I slow things down I tend to change the expression I was going for. The song is less intense and the highs end up more falsettoish and harder to maintain control. There is no problem with that if that is what you wanted to do expression wise, But it could be why you were thinking that something seemed a little  "Off" to you when you listened to it.

Jeff, also a great job and welcome to the forum.

Great job Mivke! Really soulful singing! I felt it was just a bit behind the beat on the chorus, like relaxed. But it could be just me. Congrats bro!

@Jeff Kastner Thanks for the listen and the kind words man! Also liked your version ALOT, you've really found that Myles Kennedy-tone. And doing it live is always nice to see :)

@MDEW and @Gneetapp Thanks guys for listening! Yeah, I was concentrating quite hard on relaxing, might be why it feels a little lacking in tempo and energy. Hopefully I will become more used to this more relaxed posture and I can find a way back to bringing energy without constriction :)
