Wouldn't you love that to be your journal entry Dec 31st, 2012?
It's always exciting at the advent of a new year, the untapped, raw potential that is to be unveiled
2012 is an exciting year to be alive on the planet. Whether you subscribe to all the 2012 hoopla or not, this year could be the year your music charts a new course, the one you've been waiting for why not? I hope you don't have a bunch reasons. And if you do, it's ok, but maybe you'd consider suspending them for a few minutes while you read this?
What makes an artist's career take that major turn in the road? Good fortune? Luck? Or is it their inner resolve to make it to go towards the light, trembling or not. Or is it the willingness to be REALLY uncomfortable defy the norm, get bigger, dare to shine in the spotlight?
And what keeps us from it? Our fear? or maybe as Marianne Williamson says, Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. Are you ready to stand in those shoes you dream about?
To be successful is not what it seems. It demands a fearlessness and a fierce imagination. An inner fight or flight that throws caution to the wind, leaps with no net, and charges forward into the unknown scared sh*tless? (deep breath.)
Those who do, at some point radically alter how they do things and jump outside the comfort zone, following instincts and urges in a way that others would say is crazy, unreasonable, not rational not SOUND. You have to be a little crazy?
Maybe. It's true that anyone who has ever created something brilliant Steve Jobs, The Wright Brothers, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Carl Sagan, Richard Branson, oh and let's throw some women in there: Oprah Winfrey, Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, Eleanor Roosevelt, Frida Kahlo, Joan of Arc, something we had never seen or imagined possible before didn't listen to common sense. They stretched themselves way beyond societal boundaries and certainly listened to an inner voice.
It's not about being accepted. What for?Wow that would be off-the-hook incredible! The crazy thing is, it's possible. Stranger things have happened. You never know what's around the corner, unless you lock yourself away in your room day after day and then the story is clear. You know what's going to happen you'll be in your room safe and sound. But what if this is the year you decide to step out?
