What's the verdict? I've found that it helps me stay on pitch, and maneuver better between chest and head voice. I just never hear anyone talk about it. Do you breathe through your nose when you sing? I've had allergies my whole life and i absolutely NEVER breathed through my nose, which has caused me other problems in my vocal training which I've had to overcome. But this one i don't know about...

She is using the mouth (in fact she doesnt even looses the posture of the vocal tract) , so it isnt the passage from where the air comes in which is helping you. Probably it is how your respiratory system reacts to when you breath through o your nose. After you notice the differences and can produce it on your own, it shouldnt matter.

Try smelling a perfume for example, see what happens, how does that feel?

That said, when working on breathing exercises, breathing in through your nose will not dehydrate you so much.
