DavidJames
What's the verdict? I've found that it helps me stay on pitch, and maneuver better between chest and head voice. I just never hear anyone talk about it. Do you breathe through your nose when you sing? I've had allergies my whole life and i absolutely NEVER breathed through my nose, which has caused me other problems in my vocal training which I've had to overcome. But this one i don't know about...
Felipe Carvalho
She is using the mouth (in fact she doesnt even looses the posture of the vocal tract) , so it isnt the passage from where the air comes in which is helping you. Probably it is how your respiratory system reacts to when you breath through o your nose. After you notice the differences and can produce it on your own, it shouldnt matter. Try smelling a perfume for example, see what happens, how does that feel? That said, when working on breathing exercises, breathing in through your nose will not dehydrate you so much. VideoHere
for me, i inhale and expire air when vocalizing predominately through the mouth. it tends to be more efficient.
