Piercing.....high larynx?

Hey guys,

I was messing around playing some guitar earlier and started singing this song, I thought i would record it just for the hell of it.....Anyways, after listening to it, I noticed my voice seems to sound really piercing and maybe thin? Just wondering if some of you guys could find a minute to check it out. Now, I know I have a relatively thin voice anyways, but does this seem to sound like high larynx singing to you ?

It feels easy to sing like this and i have focused on lowering my larynx but it still seems to sound characteristic of a high larynx.... but maybe this is just the nature of my voice?

I think practice makes you perfect. You sing it using open throat which is correct. Try to sing this with natural larynx level, don't think about low or high.

Anyway you are close to sound we know from goo goo dolls.

Your voice is naturally that way. Lowering your larynx will make your sound just a little darker, maybe a little quackier. But it won't make you sound like a baritone. Your voice is not too "thin." Whatever makes you think that, stop it. Stop that thought. Seriously. Quit shooting yourself in the foot. And there is no exercise in the world to make you sound significantly different than what you are.

Hey thanks for taking a listen guys...

Ron: Thanks for your reassuring comments, I guess it's quite amusing how psychology plays a big part in how you 'hear' yourself. :)
