Around here, it would be pronounced "ray." There's a little bend in the road not too far from here and the sign is spelled Rhea's Mill, but it is pronounce "rayz mill." TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted February 12, 2012 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted February 12, 2012 It's just that, from what I know of languages, people from slavic speaking countries and even eastern Eurpoe might pronounce it "ray-uh." In german, I am aware of the dipthong ae, which is pronounced eh. But I don't know what sound ea would make in russian or ukrainian, other than to pronounce each vowel. Like in the German, where the word Tee (translates to tea, in English) is pronounced, in German, as "tay" or "teh." Is that the sound you mean?
