Can anyone point me to goodexercise vids for compression/chord closure

I found one that had some neat practice methods, like that meowing thing. Not sure how valid that is though.

He also held his nose to force his larynx down. Do you do that by attempting to force air out that way and it forces it down?

Im just not getting enough compression and closure and relaxation. Once I hit the passasgio I'm trying to strain and push too hard, no matter how much I try to lay back and be light.
