  1. Hey guys, It's been a while! Here is my newest cover, let me know what you guys think. https://app.box.com/s/ezz21eawb2rsa37oxyia
  2. Hey all, Here is our second collaboration, me and Bay Harbor Butcher. The song is stay by Rihanna, let us know what you guys think of it. https://app.box.com/s/b0z0zglaqwptc9u6s9tg
  3. Thank you for the awesome comment and the heads-up on how things work around here! (I'm going to be honest, I have never heard of him...) For those interested here is my YouTube vid for this cover! The best thing you guys can do is SHARE IT, thanks for your support!
  4. Wow thank you man. Yeah I have been working recently on getting strong cord closure to be able to swell into a full mix like that, thanks to my great vocal coach!
  5. Here is the first draft of my cover of Latch. Any comments? https://app.box.com/s/wiueeqyh1rzsxpo5f6c7
  6. Not much response in the other thread (bad title I guess) so I just wanted to get some more opinions on this song I did with the bay harbor butcher. Here is our latest update: https://soundcloud.com/lestats-favorite-sounds/impossible-by-james-arthur-collaboration-with-adam-mishan
  7. I am definitely going to implement the treble suggestion next time I record! thanks ron. @aspiring singer: I thought it sounded great. I am going to echo the previous comments about pitch but it would be hard for anyone to stay in pitch with headphones in without really getting to hear yourself. You really have amazing control of your voice and a very sweet tone.
  8. Awesome stuff man. You have a beautiful tone and great verstility. The lack of volume you are experiencing is coming from a lack of complete cord closure. Trust me, as someone who has just now tapped into the majority of the true volume of my voice, there is much much more volume to be had from your voice with the proper guidance.
  9. Ok I tried to remove even more of the noise in his vocal. Was I successful? The same link will get you the updated mp3
  10. Thanks guys. This was fun and I hope to do some more with Bay in the future. He is such a talented singer. @ron: bay did send me just his vocal clip without the backing track. I did my best to remove the noise without completely killing the tone of his vocal.
  11. Hey all, This my first collaboration. I am the second singer on the track. It is the song Impossible by James Arthur. What do you guys think? https://app.box.com/s/zbbag4rmerlvro1ve5je
  12. Try to open your mouth a bit more vertically while singing. What I mean by that is that you don't want to let your mouth go wide but you need to enunciate your words more which will get more jaw movement as you are singing. @ron: He actually did not do the auto-tuned harmonies at the end, that is part of the recorded karaoke track and in fact John legend uses that same effect in his original version as well.
  13. Wow! Thank you. I would love to help you out any way I can. You can email me anytime at adammishan@gmail.com
  14. you are also under-energized which most definitely contributes to being flat most of the time. Try singing it with more authority in your voice and i'm sure you will match more of the pitches
  15. Awesome Felipe! Just a mixing note, throw a de-esser on the vocal because the sibilance is a bit piercing.
  16. the tuning is apparent on both vocals, it actually sometimes draws you off pitch. You are off pitch a lot. I would ditch the pitch correction and the other singer. Focus on where the pitches are in the song and make sure you are not coming up flat on them as you are here.
  17. Thanks ronws, I'm glad you liked born to be wild. I was really hoping to capture the feel of the song in that one even though it's not the usual style that I sing.
  18. Watch how you are shaping your vowels in the chorus. Vowels are getting wide and splatty, this is contributing to the tension in your voice in the chorus. I believe if you fix the way you shape your vowels it will help your singing develop very quickly
  19. I think what Lucca was referring to and what I hear in this clip as well is uneven phrasing. You need to smooth out the phrasing of the song. What I mean by good phrasing is not making it so choppy and staccato and thinking of making it more smooth and Legato. With that being said, you are doing a lot of things right here. I love the runs you sang, a couple of them were unexpected because you move out of the key of the song but still make it work. You're no delineation is amazing in the runs. I would also agree that your tone is very nice.
  20. Thanks Daniel and Felipe. My apologies to Felipe for the repeat from the SS forums but thank you for the feedback!
  21. Hey guys, this is my cover of Bruno Mars' song If I Knew. Let me know what you think. I look forward to your responses
