  1. Hi I am looking for critiques of my voice as per the cover of The Calling's "Wherever You Will Go" on my profile, on the link below. http://www.themodernvocalist.com/profile/RichardPott Cheers :)
  2. Thanks again Joanna. I'll start back on the running then and also step up the breathing exercises too.
  3. Thank you very much for the reply Joanna off to have a read of your book now! :)
  4. Thanks very much, just what I needed to hear! I should take the opportunity to apologise for the dodgy recording methods too :D
  5. I know I need to start taking lessons and the sooner the better but really just looking to see if my raw "talent" is worth training. Links below: There are a few others dotted through my uploads on youtube. Thanks for reading / listening :D
  6. have been back to my GP and am getting referred to an ENT - hopefully I won't have too long a wait. Thanks
  7. Thanks very much for the replies guys. I plan to go to the doctor again tomorrow anyway and see what she says about my mucus and ear problems and also my vocal worries.
  8. Thanks Judy I'm off to my GP again tomorrow. It has been suggested I have some form of allergy but my left ear gets very sore if I've been either running or singing so I'm wondering if it is something more than an allergy. I will try the fire water. Thanks again
  9. Thanks for the reply. I think you are probably right. A lot of what I try to apply tends to go out the window sometimes, especially when recording. I feel like I'm trying to work over the mucus I think. I think lessons are required. as well as something to clear the mucus. Can anyone tell by listening if I'm likely to have nodes?
  10. I am considering ordering some vocalzone pastilles and wondered if anyone could personally recommend any other produsct to add to my order. Is Vocal Eze a good investment for example? As mentioned in my other post I have problems with excess mucus/ catarrh I have recently taken up running as this seems to help with the mucus in the short term. Is running bad for the voice though? Many thanks
  11. I've been having issues with vocal cracking for sometime now, I believe due mainly to excess mucus in my throat, as I have lots of clicking in my left ear too from catarrh plus post nasal drip, though getting to the bottom of the problem on the UK NHS is proving a nightmare. To hopefully put my mind at rest regarding Nodes, which is something on my mind, I'd really like to get my vocal folds looked at which I assume I'd need to get done privately. I wondered if anyone could recommend anywhere (within easy reach of Bromley, Kent) South East London and also give me an idea of how much it's likely to cost. If all is OK I'd be looking to take singing lessons from late May onwards and would welcome any recommendations for local teachers. I've been asked to join a local band and am keen to get my issues resloved. Many thanks for reading this If anyone would like to check out my dodgily recorded samples on the youtube link below and offer any advice or constructive criticism that would be great. http://www.youtube.com/user/prophet1983 The latest ones were recorded last week (the tatu track) some are almost three years old - all can be found in my uploads. Cheers
