  1. Hey man, Most of it is sounding really good, very good approach, you got the phrasing down, the dynamics are good, a bit of care on the key spots, "searching, feeling, etc.", be extra careful to make sure that you time that exactly the same on all the words, and use the same divisions: listen to the first time you do "Searching, Seeking". You will notice that on searching you use a constant flow, almost sliding into the notes, on seeking you made the division more pronounced, like ssseeeUHrching, SEE EE Kehn. In my opinion, it would work much better if you kept both on the "slide" feel, think that the words should sound like a moan, if you listen to Dio you will notice he keeps it quite like that, then on one of them later on you break it and go for the stacatto idea you used here, but just one. Also, observe that on the low range your voice is very ballanced, its relaxed but its open, has brightness, but as you ascend for the notes that are a bit higher, you lose the brightness and round it too much, do you notice that? To avoid doing too much when you sing, I would try singing the higher parts lower in pitch, and just exagerating the brightness AND the roundness to see how it feels like, then do it on the right pitch. Hope it helps but I really like it, it seems like a simple song but its not easy to deliver this, the interpretation is killer.
  2. @Musik, Jeremy and gnee thank you guys @Jenny Off spots? That´s impossible. hahaha but dont worry, girls can do it to, there is hope for you still!!! @ronws, Jarom, Rob and gno, thanks for the words folks!!!
  3. From another era of Faith No More, when Mike Patton changed his approach to his vocals (for better in my opinion), awesome song, has very different characters that needs a different technical approach to handle: https://app.box.com/s/uynjz9dw90c13es50kwofdkvrh2y5275 Hope you like it
  4. Great song from the 40s that requires some different approaches than what I am used to, very fun, and just in time with Fallout 4
  5. Hi there, another song that will be part of the repertoire and that I was taking a look to see what I was going to do. I decided to go a bit more for the bright sound Mike Patton used at the time, please let me know if it sounds fine https://app.box.com/s/c8e5w3ipxgpicpl8vn9ruc8w8l3oh39o Felipe
  6. @gnee thank you! I will see if I still have the project around and redo the mix a bit more carefully @Rob this song is just amazing, it does have an 80s feel to it but its very elaborate, full of details, and well Freddie Mercury... hahah thank you!! @ronws thank you! yes I remember seeing the live aid performance of this song (85?) and was so amazed by the energy he could bring to it, probably where the idea for a bit more energy comes from @Martin glad you like it, I know you enjoy the band a lot. I also like the variety of the songs, I honestly dont know how much they "took turns" in writing the material, but I always found amazing how different the ideas they used were from song to song, this is also not very common. @mdew to be honest I was away for a while too, time is running short lately but I will try to keep sending material as often as I can. And thanks for listening and for your support!
  7. This is a cool song that was in my plans to do a decent study for a while, very interesting, full of details and "traps". For example, at first my idea was on the lines of "I will just support and darken the living hell out of it", but it sounded just wrong, after experimenting a long time, I found that it sounds much better to just relax and just speak it more, working with lower intensity (kinda the same that happens with everything else haha, but, tricked me anyways). https://app.box.com/s/fw4z4p9bxailqaq8mjrqz4lmuz2h74m6 Hope you like it! Let me know please, everyone that listens and that can drop a few lines, thanks a lot!!!
  8. 3 things that you could work toward in order to improve this sample. 1 - Same vowel through it all, no nasalance. You begin with a nasal Ah, then you add a H behind the next note, then you change it to OH. Its either AH or Oh, and dont make it nasal, oral all the way, literally keep your voice in your mouth. 2 - Before you breath, think of the highest note on the interval you are going to sing, position your mouth, tongue, everything as if you were singing that note, then inhale WITH that positon and thinking of the vowel , dont let anything change, inhale with the "high note/vowel position" and keep it until the last note is finished. 3 - Dont thin, I have no idea of what you are trying to achieve by "thinning", but in fact, given what I heard in these samples, you would benefit from going strong. You have a bit of airyness, insecure attacks, etc. So instead of "thining out", I would think "loud and clear". Think authoritative voice, or calling someone thats far, whatever you need to keep you strong. The key here is to think of volume, of "more voice", and not of forcing/pushing it.
  9. @Simpan, can I hear how "shouted" sounds like in the present moment, go for it and blast it out, let me hear how it sounds like.
  10. Its been a while! I was studying this one for some time but had to put in on hold to learn a bunch of other songs for a project... Anyways, cool song that in my opinion needs an extra punch to work well. Very fun stuff to study, I recommend! https://app.box.com/s/9ylbzjg5g56stj9icr5atqza9jdio9lc Let me know how it sounds like! and thanks for listening!!
  11. Cant you change the key or the melody? This kind of thing hardly will be solved in 5 days... Just saying, not a wise thing to do to bring something you dont feel secure about to stage. The audience want you to succeed, not to try to sing B4s or some other note you have a problem with. GL!
  12. Hi! Man two things that needs to be addressed right away, first, the begining is awesome in regards to position and placement, thats exactly what you need to do, BUT, please redo it and sing on the beat man, you are singing ahead of the tempo almost all the time, its distracting! And when going high, you are exagerating the change, try to keep your voice closer to what you do on the begining, just use the vowels more on the direction of Uh (cover more). The way you are doing right now produces a huge change and it breaks the quality you have on the lower area. On Hold, either go loud with OH, or cover too. You sang it almost hEHld, doesnt work well. Right direction, keep it up!
  13. @Elvis yeah, it seems that light is really important when recording videos hahaha, who would have known? @Anthony @ronws thank you, hopefully that will be happening (although I will not be playing the poor guitar haahha)
  14. @ronws Viva! Emotions???? Never! haha @Marcus thank you my friend!
  15. @Khassera Thanks man! @Musikman Glad you like it bro! Thanks for listening and for the words!
  16. Hey folks! Quick video I put together to test my new video setup, hope you like it! Room audio (+reinforcement of the guitar)
  17. @Bono hehe thanks man, @geno thank you! Its complicated to answer that, its a lot of energy and pressure, but not on the throat/neck, its more a matter of appoggio (the higher verses in special). @Nash ahh but it IS possible! Thank you for your words!!
  18. Nice! You´re getting the phrasing and melody quite well, the higher sections of the song need something different than what you are doing, that´s why its not comming along yet, in my opinion, you should work it out with what you are doing currently, by making sure you make the middle/higher notes on low intensity/quiet, dont try to make them aggressive. Then nail down the whole song and it will be an awesome study. It will sound different than the original, but still can sound good. Careful with the first phrase also, you are changing the melody on "when evening falls". On "soft and warm" you seem to get it right, so it should be the same thing! For the more aggressive thing, there is no way, you will need to train the whole package, support, emission, resonance, everything will need to get attention. There are some aspects that you still don´t use, like forward placement, so really don´t worry about it until you begin training and just try to sing it in the best way you can. GL!
  19. Hi Elvis! Many things seems to be on the right direction, but it needs work. The highest parts seem to be lacking support and energy... But more important than that man, dynamics, this song has a beautiful interpretation line and you are delivering it flat out on the same same level all the way through it, lets check the old man doing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvVKj0c0UTQ Check at 3:40 : Soft and WAAAAAARmmmm (f) she touch my face (p).... The good thing is, the same kind of support you will need to do the lower intensity notes without falling appart/breaking, is what you will have to do on the higher sections, stronger for the higher notes of course. The position you are using through the song is indeed a bit nasal also, try thinking of a half yawn, giving space on the back, dopey voice to correct it. But, don´t let the sensation change, do so while directing your voice to the same place you are right now, if that makes sense. I would only go for this kind of position on the higher areas btw.
  20. I see! This is helpful. I know that its crazy to try to get rid of accent, but well, it does not hurt to articulate stuff properly eheh Thanks again!
  21. @ronws and rotlung thanks guys @Adolph haaha super cool! @Anthony and Elvis thank you so much. It took a real lot of work, and really, I sucked big time ahahah, I think Ive linked a recording somewhere around here of me murdering some songs, I will try to find it. No way I could sing anything from Iron back then, in fact this one would be on the "impossible" list until more recently. @Owen, Pekka and aravin Thank you so much for the words guys! @Rob, Olem and Jugulator ahaha thank you guys, truth is it would be smarter to do it standing up, but my current settings are not very practical in that sense when I am making videos (nowhere to place the camera, etc), I will probably reorganize the studio to allow me to record while standing up in a easier manner. I got used to support while sitting down though, its not that different anymore. @felipxp Thank you!! @benny82 I will show it for sure, needs some more polishing! And thanks bro @akarawd thank you my friend! @everyone thanks so much for listening and for the words. Really appreciate it!
  22. Since Fallout 4 was released these days, how about this one?
  23. Hey! Cool song, was recording some original material and did a take on it to give it a break, I liked it so here it goes:
