  1. @Jeff Kastner Thanks for the listen and the kind words man! Also liked your version ALOT, you've really found that Myles Kennedy-tone. And doing it live is always nice to see @MDEW and @Gneetapp Thanks guys for listening! Yeah, I was concentrating quite hard on relaxing, might be why it feels a little lacking in tempo and energy. Hopefully I will become more used to this more relaxed posture and I can find a way back to bringing energy without constriction
  2. Hey man! I really liked it! This felt like a performance rather than a technical study. I'm sure the guys here better on technique than me can help you pinpoint stuff where you still could improve but as far as the feel for the song, you got it. Keep the covers coming!
  3. @ronws Hey man, thanks for the listen and I'm happy that you like it! I don't really know who Kiske is, is it Helloween's singer? I will have to check him out to see the similarity @Felipe Carvalho Thanks man, glad you liked it and also thanks alot for the help with mixing! Made it alot more solid. Will try to go for EVEN BETTER quality in my next recording regarding musicianship and expresiveness so it's not so LAME
  4. Hey Gsoul, thanks for listening! Oh alright, I will try to think about that. The one at 2:59 was actually the only one that was intended I was going for a little bit of a desperate feel, but I could hear myself doing that in other parts of the song where it just kinda happened. I guess it's just polishing to be done now, I'm actually quite happy with this. I also got some help with the mixing so I will change the link to the "newer" version, still the same takes though.
  5. Hey Aravindmadis! Sounds really cool man! Production is awsome, you've really found the timbre for the song and it seems like you can do it for a long time The only thing I would work on is making sure the pitch becomes correct even with that kind of timbre. Right now you are attacking the chorus a little flat but I think it's just a matter of attention to detail. Great work man, keep the covers coming!
  6. Hello everyone! I've been working on this cover for quite some time, I think I've got it to a place where I can share it. Still not 100% with it but would like to know what you guys think about it. If you have the time and the will, please take a listen. I take all criticism so you can be too specific or too generic Link below, thanks to everyone who takes a listen! https://app.box.com/s/e6m1pnmnrxx7a5nqph7olq0nzvo1zqce Edit: New link to a better mix.
  7. Hey man! Really really awsome! Amongst the best covers I've heard from you, on both the singing and the production. This sounds like you could have been an original member Edit: Misspelling.
  8. Hey Bruce, thanks for the input! Indeed you are correct, those spots are flat. I will try to remember that when I sing it so I can adjust it Also, I can take no credit for the backing vocals, they came with the backing track. Probably why they sound better than me Thanks for listening again man!
  9. Hey Reisbro, thanks for taking a listen! I've been rather lazy as of late, but hopefully there will be another cover coming from me soon! Also, looking forward to hearing your covers man.
  10. Hey Reisbro! I indeed used a backing track with all the instruments aswell as the backing vocals. The main vocals were recorded on an sE2200a II C mic into a free program called DAW called Reaper. Hope that helps and thanks for listening!
  11. Hey man, I really liked it! Regarding technique I think you have already had better advice than I can give so all you get from me is a thumbs up
  12. Thanks guys! Didn't know that was the issue Here it comes available for streaming I hope! https://app.box.com/s/qrqsy4dzuoa3mneadpym2ffd5tvtfmve
  13. Hey guys! I just found a song I started working on quite some time ago and then kind of just forgot about. I would like to finish it but I would like some feedback from those of you that wish to give some Here is the cover in progress: https://app.box.com/s/qrqsy4dzuoa3mneadpym2ffd5tvtfmve I'm quite happy with most of it but I still feel it could improve. Also, pardon me for the AWFUL backing track. I think someone tampered with the spectrum of the song to remove the vocals but alot of other things disapeared aswell. Anyways, take a listen if you like the song and write a comment if you have the time. Thanks in advance! Edit: Edited the link to a version that is streaming rather than having to download.
  14. Hey guys, sorry for the late reply! @Rob: Thanks for listening man! Alright, I will try to make sure to not get too dull and dark when going down in dynamics @Ron: Thanks man! I just sang this at an audition two days ago playing my guitar aswell. Was a blast thanks to the confidence given by you two Cheers guys!
  15. Hello everybody! Here is a version of the song Drive by Incubus sung by me. Please take a listen and if you have the time, any feedback is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone! https://app.box.com/s/16i0zj3yb7nmbym9w56nv1952f3bevs3
  16. Hey man! I think it sounded awesome the only thing I would change in order to get even closer to the original would be to open your eh's a bit. make them a little more towards oh and you are spot on. If yu do plan to do an instrumental and vocal cover, please let me know of you would like any guest singer ayreon is one of my top favorite artists so it would be super fun to be a part of that. Anyways cheers man, sounding really good
  17. Hey everyone, thanks so much for listening and commenting!   @Enander - Thanks alot for the comment! Indeed, there are quite a few sour parts but it's the best I could do at this point in time (and I didn't have it in me to redo it more ). As you said, it's a very challanging melody line for me, but very rewarding to study If you have the time, could you say some examples on where you thought my voice sounded natural and better and some examples where it didn't so I know for the future?   @Olem - Thanks for listening bro. To be honest I only did one harmony (on the 2nd chorus but it's very quite and hard to hear ). The rest is the backing track. Although I guess you could argue that my harmony over the backing track is decent?   @Magicka Singer - Thanks alot for the kind words So nice that the emotion got through, I find it hard to maintain that connection when you work on a song for a long time and you do it over and over again.   @Elvis - Thanks man! Give it a month and you will do it better already, don't think your progress is unnoticed
  18. Sounds really good man!   Regarding the emotion thing, I did not think it sounded robotic or anything like that. This is something I'm not great at myself, but if I have one tip I think it's to kind of "overdo" it but also go the full line. Try to clear your mind of any kind of self consiousness regarding conveying that emotion. When you don't go full out, that's when it sounds half-assed I think. You have to overdo it by a VERY BIG MARGIN for it to become a problem on the other side of the spectrum   Keep on writing and producing!
  19. Hey everyone!   I've been working on this cover for quite some time now, it's been very giving. Would love for some extra ears on it and if you have the time and will, please leave a comment. I will probably not rerecord this (at least not in a while) but critique is always welcome whatever it is   https://app.box.com/s/g0o5rww41t7d6wefbpechudm56t2cj5a   Thanks in advance and cheers!   P.S Will upload a picture asap
  20. Hey guys, heard alot of awsome entries!   I will give it a go aswell, though I must agree with Joshua, it's NOT an easy song
  21. Really really good cover!   I have another reason I like to listen to your covers except they sound good aswell, when I mimick your voice I tend to fall into a much nicer "pocket" than when I imitate alot of other singers. Your "Watch Over You" by Alter Bridge has helped me a ton!
  22. First off, you're already a top-tier vocalist so...   Secondly, it's sounds really good! The song had a nice 80s feel to it, I liked it. Regards to your singing, I think when you went for the higher distortion it kind of went outside of the genre for the rest of the song. I REALLY like that distortion, but it sounds a bit more Dio than.... Aha xD In the context of this song it might sound more cohesive with a little less aggressive distortion. Just an idea   Cheers man and good luck!
  23. Listen and liked buddy, in both senses of the word :)
  24. Just noticed I hadn't replied to this one. I think it sounds awsome man, one of the best covers you've done :)
