  1. Hi forum I'm new here. I'm an amateur singer-songwriter based in Switzerland and I've got a question regarding h-sounds after t's. My new vocal coach and I are both non-native speakers of English, our mother tongue is Swiss German. She keeps criticizing my h's after t's, e.g. after the double t's in "letter" or "better" saying that they are a pronunciation feature of "Germanic English". This snippet illustrates the issue: http://www.recpro.ch/mp3/snippet_Armani_song.mp3 Now I certainly agree with her that in American English "letter" and "better" wouldn't be pronounced like this. However, I wonder if there are other (British?) accents that do aspirate h's after t's. Or is "Germanic English" after all? Best regards Nico
