  1. Thank you very much, it is a song that really speaks to me.. to me singing from the heart is the most important thing.. also technique is really important, and I'm trying to work hard on it
  2. Hello everybody! This is my second attempt to recording a song, still some pitch problems here and there and troubles with the english pronunciation https://soundcloud.com/dbass1/betterman-cover Comments and critiques are well accepted! Thanks!
  3. Bernie I listened carefully to the song and I realize these things you said! I totally agree and I thank you for advicing me this. My mothertounge is not english, therefore I tend to pronunciate in an unnatural way... I'll try to work on that! I think I got "tired" vocally at the end of the song.. I always record the songs from the beginning to the end, because I think the feel is delivered in the whole take, if it's right.. it's also a good point to improve my "stamina"! while when practising I try to repeate single phrases to improve the technique. However good points, I'll work on that!
  4. Wabba_treads, thank you very much, I feel I still have some problems controlling the vibrato, and the voice in some points is "trembling" and pitchy, I agree! Ronws, thank you very much! I also read the memoirs of Scott Weiland, and this song's meaning is so much intense. I try not to mimic some other singer, because I'm really trying to focus on my own voice and try to emotionally express as much as I can what I "read between the lines" besides technique, this is my main "struggle"
  5. Hello everyone! It's been I while I haven't posted anything, so I wanted to post this cover I recorded recently.. I'm really open to any kind of critique or comment , I feel it still lacks precision in many parts, and my pronunciation is far from perfect
  6. Thank you very much Tommy for you constructive critique. I feel I have lots of problems with sound emission, technique is poor and that's what I will be focusing on. Now I'm seriously approaching to singing as a proper "instrument", just as I did with bass guitar, but it takes years of practice, I know. English is not my first language, that's true I'm italian, however I will try to pay more attention to these pronunciation nuances, but I don't think it is a big problem..I am more concerned about my singing technique, and I would appreciate to know from you in which moments of the song you sensed specific technical mistakes (emission, "throat-singing", out of pitch, etc..), because of the lack of experience it's still hard for me to detect all the mistakes I do, but surely you can. Thanks ronws I will try to soften up on the consonants, I don't think it is a mixing problem, it's still my imprecise english pronunciation. I really appreciate what you said about the feel for the song, to me is as equally fundamental as technique.
  7. Amazing tone..wow! Great performance, and you put your personal vocal style in the song without copying AC/DC's singing
  8. Hello! I'm new to this forum, and I'm also new to singing. I've been playing bass for a long time, now I would like to learn to sing, but I realize how hard it is. I started to take some lessons, and I'm trying to work hard. I posted this song... a cover from The Beatles, Don't Let me Down.. I would appreciate to receive comments, critiques to my singing, because I know how hard it will be to become a good singer and I am open to listen to critiques and humbly work hard on my singing. So please comment! Thanks everybody http://soundcloud.com/dbass1/dont-let-me-down-the-beatles
