  1. https://soundcloud.com/eugene-shankar/pulaski-snippet I did a little bit of Casmir Pulaski Day by Sufjan Stevens I've always loved this song since I first heard a friend sing it I am really worried about my tone lately Can anybody give me some pointers?
  2. Thank you sir. Yes the harmonies are weird. It was like 2 in the morning and people were home. I forgot I did a better version the day after. I like the concept of trying to write an old folk song but it's hard not to sound like a tool. I just thought reevers were cool. Any suggestions? Like, what part if any were you like "Uhhh what the (*auto edit*)?" in terms of the song, not me being spacy and half asleep. * and I suck at harmonies, because I just slide all over the place.... and my brother broke my guitar so I'm playing a 1/2 squire acoustic from when I was 8 with spray paint all over it. Horrible.
  3. Two words bro. (*auto edit*) yeah. It reminded me of good covers you hear in bars. I used to draw superheros for the bands at the bar I bussed at. I was 18 and a hairy dude. So they thought it was weird. It was. Good singing though man.
  4. http://fawm.org/songs/8687/ I feel like I sound really weird or goofy. What do you guys think, I feel like it is pretty good. Feel free to be negative.
  5. Thank you, that is what I was looking for, I knew something was wrong with my sound but I didn't know what to call it, so I couldn't look it up. You're the best. Oh and yeah those are just how I talk, I've always had kind of a gnaaaack uggggh uhhh kind of voice. I've been intensifying those sounds because I listen to Neutral Milk Hotel and punk in general, but I'd really rather sound pretty.
  6. You have beautiful tone. But I feel like you're trying to match the way she pronounces words too much. Which I do too. I just mean, you sound good and you should try to own this song.
  7. Hi, I was wondering if I could get some constructive criticism on my cover of Colorblind. I used an instrumental track and did a lead vocal and bass vocal. Please let me know what you think of my voice and what I can improve on, I've been training for a year now but not with a teacher. Just books and the internet. So I lack that kind of correction. Thanks http://soundcloud.com/eugene-shankar/colorblind-cover I am a run of the mill baritone, (F#)A#-D(F#) Even if you really don't like it, feel free to tell me what you don't like.
