  1. I've read many a time that the way we speak affects the way we sing, but I haven't actually worked out what the actual technique to good speaking actually is - what should I change about the way I speak to improve my singing? Also, I'm working on the way I breath at the moment, and I'm expanding my belly and ribs - is it a good idea to breath like this throughout the day, trying to keep my ribs expanded for as long as I can before taking another breath? Thanks a lot for reading.
  2. Yeah I am currently taking lessons with Robert, and he's wicked. As for a quick fix, that's a great help thanks :)
  3. Demonstration would be awesome, cheers man. I'm giving it a go and it's sort of improving I think I nee to play around with it a bit
  4. My band is doing a cover of Get Lucky by Daft Punk, and I need some help with Pharrel Williams' vocals at the start of the hook, We've come too far, to give up who we are, So let's raise the bar and our cups to the stars.". I can just about hit the first part, but Pharrel goes into falsetto for "to give up who we are" and "our cups to the stars". I just can't seem to make that falsetto sound good, but can't sing those high notes without going into falsetto. Would you advise me to work on my falsetto in some way, or should I just keep trying to extend my range until I can hit those notes?
  5. Aha, no I can find other times and have to, the only thing concerning me is that I occasionally go busking and if there was any way to speed up the warm up process i'd take it - I'll try the herbal tea and water Vin, thanks. And Ron, thanks for the advice, I will adjust my schedule if I can't speed this up a bit.
  6. I've just googled acid reflux and it's definitely not that serious, I've not experienced any of the other symptoms - I can still sing in the mornings bu I just seem to be a lot more croaky for the first hour or so.
  7. How long should it take for me to sound normal in the mornings? I often attempt my vocal warm up maybe 30 minutes after waking and my voice still feels as if it is cracking a lot - sometimes I have to wait 1-2 hours before it feels normal. Any guesses as to why this is, and/or tips to warm up my voice quicker in the mornings? Thanks a lot.
