  1. You're quite talented. Your voice is sweet and enjoyable. The venue sound is pretty bad and your mic technique given that mud might have detracted as well (little too close). Of course, I'm no expert. :)
  2. Thanks! This is me just playing and singing in front of a cheap ZOOM H2 digital recorder. Let Me Lift Your Burden - by David Lane 2014 Do you have what you need and are you safe in your own skin… You know there’s nothing in the darkness that ain’t here when the light pours in You been waitin’ for the sunshine, baby dreadin’ the coming rain… Listenin’ to that thunder rollin’ round those clouds again Let me lift your burden Let me take the weight I want to hold you high above me now Let you fly away Away above these troubles Blowing kisses from the sky All your pain forgotten And your worry put aside Throw open that bedroom window smell the breeze and taste the air… Fill up your heart with weightless things feel it blow away your cares I’ve got an old Honda Dream, girl toaster tank done up in chrome… We’ll ride round the lake this evening let the moon light guide us home Whisper that you love me Nothing else is real Wrap your arms around me Eyes closed to help you feel You are not alone here Never will that be Let me lift your burden Set your mind at ease The rules your deacon preaches got you tied in useless knots… You and you alone girl hold the keys to spring the locks You know that love’s the answer every fiber of your heart… The Gods will smile upon you and those chains will fall apart Let me lift your burden Give it all to me Not one tear remembered Nothing but today Your sun is warm and shining The morning bright and new Dream again my sweat heart I’ll make it all come true
  3. Let Me Lift Your Burden took a while. Writing is never easy for me, but this one really took it's own sweet time. The recording is pretty raw. Please feel free to comment. Thanks, David
  4. Really nice! Listened to the whole thing (not something I often do). Practice getting out of your chest and up into your head a tiny but more.
  5. I'm very new here so I have no idea why you haven't gotten a lot of compliments. Your vocals and instrumentation are fun and entertaining.
  6. Thanks! This Sept I hope to team up with a professional violinist and record a couple. Here's another... Grow - David Lane Ugly are the men, who are the hateful tools of our government Aye and aye and aye Babylon lives and my brothers come to swallow any lie The marijuana Now is the time man, now we can decide that the herb is jah Free and blessed be I cannot avoid the truth, 70 years of war against a stupid plant... Ganja, ganja, hey <Chorus> Caffeine, nicotine, and the alcohol Each offer altered states of mind And dangers greater than the kind Enjoyed by folks who've not been... blind. We are connected, the music of love weaves its silky thread Aye and aye and aye We are made whole, and those in fear and pain can be set free The marijuana We owe our kids, man, our wrath and lies have sown mistrust Free and blessed be And they will come around, to a healthy view of this stupid plant Ganja, Ganja, hey <Chorus> Caffeine, nicotine, and the alcohol Each offer altered states of mind And dangers greater than the kind Enjoyed by folks who've not been... blind.
  7. Thanks, analog! Steve Earl isn't on my radar at all, but I'll definitely look him up. I'm not sure how to post my originals but here are three... 8. Wow! Your voice is like a good steak, dude. Juicey, smokey, rich, sizzling.
  9. Here's my rather unpolished site: http://www.david-j-lane.com/ Feel free to comment on any or all three videos. Thank you!
