  1. Is this part of me singing sung in curbing or metal like netural? What could i done better? Cheers peeps :)
  2. When i warm up i focus a lot on breath support and apply nasal resonance, the "twanger". I'd say also that doing exercises is never a warm up, just a work out for improving vocal technique, coz even the warm up exercsises that people suggest you to do is vocal workout for the basics like support and resonance.... I think :)
  3. Thank you guys for hepling.. Check my new post if ur interested.. I will try to keep doing the goog but got a bit bored of it atm.
  4. I start a new post coz i got sick of the goog exercise.. Too boring and makes me frustrated Let me ask you this guys.. I feel i can do a thousands of different exercises working on different voice things, but i feel when i use proper correct breath support and focus on that more, everything "falls in together". I can feel the "connected voice". However. Does anyone ever felt the same like me or am I an alien? Do I have to practice scales in order to learn to sing? - I never ever had one single vocal exercise in my life that would improve my singing voice. X
  5. Thank u guys u make me happy! I also try to focus more on the vowel than the pitch, and keep same volume.. Like that i can easier let the voice go where it wants to go, obviously to the good way. I will try to not overdo the exercise either and also keep singing songs. Just one more question.. Becoz i do this exercise kinda quiet.. Do i let my voice go into headvoice when i sing the topnote? Where is mix voice in my range as a female vocalist? I can feel my mix starts around D4. Any female singers out there? Thnks i owe u some help too. I hope i can help too hehe I wish i had money to take a lesson now.. Gotta sort it out asap!
  6. Hi again! I practiced more earlier and following your advice really helped me i think! Heres one where i sing goog: Heres one where i sing goog to mah: -mah-mah-mah I feel that i connect.. Basically i just let the voice go wherever it wants to go by doing the following things u adviced me.. Did i improve? I took it the highest to C5.. The top note would be C5.. But i didnt record it, but it sounded fine! It sounds connected but not powerful but i believe if i practice quietly first for a while with right coordination, i can add power the right way and wont fall back again on pushing the voice but if i wanna practice higher pitches, do i keep the same volume all the way thru?? Thanks so much for all the help! I hope im on the right track now :)
  7. Hi guys!!! Ohh thank you! Makes me happy you helped me out. So I guess my chest voice sound efficient? "release the air into the head" - what I mean is as I ascend I try to let the resonance travel up to my nose cavities and sort of into my head. Does it make sense? Do I make it better in this clip? http://m.soundcloud.com/smoothoperator-cvoice/2-february-2014-10-10-27 Shall I just release into head voice on the top notes? What it sounds like is what I try to do from your explanation is to like bring the chest voice settings up to headvoice but that doesn't work.. So I just leave chest voice at the top note is that what you mean?
  8. Sorry! I always forget that! Here it is: https://soundcloud.com/smoothoperator-cvoice/1-february-2014-08-13-34 Thanks!
  9. Hi all.. I've practised on how to start in chest voice with a lower volume, and to keep he same volume throuhout the scale. I did it on goog, after I've seen a YouTube clip with a guy called Eric arceneaux. I wanna admit I've seen it a long time ago but only started to believe in that this exercise might help me find the "middle voice", which I believe you understand what I mean by. Also, as I ascend on the exercise, I also focus on "releasing the air into the head to resonate there", so i can end up in what I hope then is the middle voice. Before, I used to sing the first three notes in the scale in heavy chest voice, and the voice would flip into that airy mood which is powerless and disconnected on the top note. I've made a short clip to introduce my "goog" sound and if I do it correctly? I know this exercise also comes from speech level singing and singing success so I don't mind you guys involved in that method to analyse my sound clip. At the moment I only practice between G#3-B4.. But here I introduce between A#3-A#4!. Hope to hear feedback cheers
  10. To answer Keiths very first question.. when you are sick, your vocal cords swells up, as your vocal cords are muscles and surrounds by other muscle groups around the larynx. You don't nessesarily need to lose your voice or get hoarse, but when we get sick the our bodies fight the whatever you got, and this is why we sometimes have achy bodies.. so when ur vocal cords are swollen, voice gets thicker and thats how we feel that we sing in "chest voice", but really we singing on swollen vocal cords, and need to be careful to not damange em!
  11. Hi all! Thank you ever so much for the answers here. I do find doing Goog on a downward 5 tone scale startin at G4 does improve my chestvoice to lighten up, as I tend to "hit the wall". Like it got "crumbled up" if u get me? But sometimes I also just end up airy... BUT! I've just realized that I also that between singing phrases in a song, when I am about to breathe, I apparently forget to relax my muscles during inhalation and engage the support for the next singing phrase. I always start a song the right way, but the rest of the song I feel I struggle and I just found out why. Coz when I inhale and "engage" my support, it all gets into right place. Thought I wouldn't start a new thread about it.. and I am aware of SLS but i never found myself successful by doing their exercises coz i need to focus only on small bits at a time when imrpoving my voice, but doing them long massive scales seems so advanced, and I might do them later on, but not when I try to learn how to sing efficiently and learning to breath and support properly does solve 90% of all vocal issues im tellin ya! Cheers guys!
  12. Why is "Goog" such a good exercise to practice? And if I wanna do it, shall I do it quietly so I can gently find the cord closure? Just wondering! Cheers
  13. Hi all! I couldn't access my other tmv so here I am with this one from now on. Anyway. I wanted to ask you what mode this is in CVT terms? Is it neutral or Curbing? Its just so I know from what point I should practice from to the direction of where I want to go! https://soundcloud.com/smoothoperator-cvoice/a-voice-in-progress-what-mode A tip for people who might find it challenging to develop singing through glottal attacks, do NOT force them, let them just happen. I forced them, and when I did it right, it felt like the glottal attack was done literally inside my brain, and I could feel the sensation that the voice finally came forward into my face, right through my sinus! :)
