  1. Thanks Ronws and Simba!       You can try "bra jobbet mann" if you want to surprise a norwegian with your language skills
  2. This is a quick acoustic coverversion I made of Way to Fall by Starsailor, beautiful song that takes some work to give justice   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sU-XissDow   Critics, good or bad? Fire away!
  3. Rock solid voice, great tone, if there's anything to comment on I'd say that some of the rythmic/esthetic elements like for example on the "am I wrong/have I gone" part could be closer to what Staley does originally.   But that is nitpicking/personal preference, the overall performance was close to flawless. Good job!
  4.   Thanks Bzean! Yea, it's important to be able to express what the song is about I think, I try to avoid the song becoming flat and emotionless and put alot of work into mixing different expressions into the arrangement. I'll take both of your feedbacks regarding high pitch into consideration, and we'll see where I end up. I know I'm capable of developing way beyond this performance at least
  5.   Any feedback is good feedback, it widens my perspective, so thanks for putting some time into it I actually try to sound abit breathy at both low and high pitch during this cover, and some of the distortion is abit "much". Going sharper/more bity in the higher registers are in my opinion "easier" than what I do here, so what I try to do is to ad more power, alot of power. Although it's probably noticeable that my voice is abit out of shape these days and I don't pull it off as good as I would like to. I sing the entire song without experiencing strain/issues, this distortion is all about breathy technique so my voice can take quite a few rounds with this song before becoming fatigued.

  7. Glad to hear you do Ron! I didn't get the impression you thought my falsetto was bad, most of my reply was just me picking on myself and what I think I need to work on, quite a habit, hehe :D
  8. Big thanks Ron, I don't remember the original in detail, but my version is pretty close to it as far as I remember arrangementwise. Personally I think my version might fall short due to the fact my falsetto is a little subpar at the moment, and my control/softness on the choruses suffers from it. Bellamy makes a brilliant contrast from fullvoice to falsetto during the last chorus that I'm not quite able to reproduce right now.
  9. I agree with your points regarding the soundquality, I put together these tracks a little too quick using presets mindlessly and ended up overEQ'ing/overcompressing everything pretty hard. I've removed compression and eq on both tracks and I think it also fixes some of the dynamic range issues since alot of that might've been lost because of overcompression. At least at some rate. The links have been updated with the changes I've made. Thanks for the feedback :)
  10. Practicing midrange/falsetto today, the Radiohead song seems fairly easy for me to sing, Unintended on the other hand is extremely challenging and not sure if I really managed to pull it off decently. Exit Music for a Film (Radiohead cover) Unintended (Muse cover) Soundcloud links, constructive critisism is more than welcome! Rock on!
  11. Nice job man, I think you got most of the song down pretty decently, and this isn't exactly an easy song to sing properly. It's also a very good song for your voice. Constructive critisism: Phil Collins is also a drummer, and I think that fact becomes very clear when you listen to how he times/places phrases perfectly along with the ryhtmsection throughout a song. This song is a great example where the vocals play a huge role in the rythmical expression of the song, meaning: if you miss out on some of the vocalist "beats" the song will lose some energy. I'm also a drummer so I guess those things are very important/noticeable for me. Either way, good job, keep on rocking!
  12. Great song that seems to be just perfect for your voice, good job man. Karaoke for lief
  13. Good job, love the sound of your vibrato on the verses, and I don't think you sound too Cornell'ish. Keep on screaming
  14. Big thanks for the feedback guys! Glad to hear you like the song as well, this particular song actually gave my band a supportgig for Toto and Mannfred Manns a few years ago, great fun. I don't think anyone will ever be in a place where they won't have anything more to learn, I think we just have to continue exploring, and for my case, maybe a little more awareness/focus on technical details won't hurt, and it could be my next step. Especially considering I've been singing on "feel&flow" 95% of the time so far, so I do appreciate your feedback and the information here on this site. Also a very interesting discussion going on here in general right now. Karaoke, dumb? Does not compute. Karaoke with pride man, like you mean it  I agree, this might depend on my shape at the time/day I press record, but I generally need to keep practicing more to gain more strength and stability around the bridge and above. I've been very on and off regarding singing the last few years, but I got at least 2 months of steady practice again before I did this recording. Can't wait till I get some more time on my back, going to be some great fun Big thanks!
