  1. i tried to use your advice and sang along with Mariah and recorded it. while there sure is a lot i could do better, i don't think it sounds too bad - way better than the karaoke-version! http://picosong.com/PE95/ what do you think? and thank you so so much again ;)
  2. thank you, Javastorm! the last time i posted a song, i heard the same thing: pitch is off. what exactly is meant by that? am i too high, too low, too flat, too...? or all of those things in different parts of the song? Bay_Harbor_Butcher, i'm listening to your rendition of Open Arms right now and it's beautiful! Mariah's influence is noticable when you know it, but you don't try to copy anything from her style and it sounds great!
  3. Hey guys! I'd love to hear your opinion on me singing Mariah's 4th of July. I think it's such a beautiful song and while she's probably one of the singers most amateures shouldn't try to sing, I sing some of her songs quite effortlessly. And now I'm wondering how that sounds to others I discovered Audacity a few weeks ago and was playing around with it, I'm not sure if I profit from that on this song or not - you tell me so the background vocals are mine, too. so please tell me if it's good, not that bad or if I'm totally off base with this - and please don't be too harsh, I'm just doing this for fun! Now -hopefully - enjoy! Mariah Carey - 4th of July http://picosong.com/P6Ag Thanks in advance!
  4. thank you both for replying! and thank you, Jim, for liking my whistles and my voice haha i don't really feel a tension when singing that song (probably doesn't mean it isn't there), but i do tend to sound way better singing with singers instead of with Karaoke tracks. my whistling's bad today so maybe i'll try tomorrow to sing along with Minnie and then upload it here. i'm afraid i don't have a lot of musical talent and therefor don't really know what notes to sing when singing to music, which leads to the pitch being off. doesn't mean it's that much better sinigng along! but thank you, i really appreciate you taking the time to listening and replying :)
  5. i like it! much much better than the "can't help falling in love with you" ;)
  6. Hey guys! I've always loved to sing but only started to kinda like my own voice a few months ago. I'm anything near perfect and there's LOTS of cringeworthy moments but it's fun and doesn't hurt anybody (though I never asked my neighbors about their ears). Since I found out I can do whistle notes (sometimes, don't have a lot of control yet) I started getting into the subject of singing, with voice types, notes, etc. I'm at the very beginning and never want it to be anything more than a hobby but would like to get some opinions on it, anyway. (and I'm too scared to ask the neighbors ) So here's me siniging Minnie Ripperton's "Lovin' You": http://picosong.com/euvh Please don't be too harsh but honest and maybe give some thought on my voice type! Are songs like this one too high for my voice? Thanks guys! :)
