  1. Beastly song, nice work man. Can't say much more than that. Think the melody and guitars syncopated really nice together.
  2. Thanks for being polite about the really off pitch parts about this guys, I know I messed up a lot in hindsight but I'm glad you picked something good out of it. Thank you very much guys and much love.
  3. Really hard song to do lol, tried my absolute best to pull it off because I do like it a lot. Thanks in advance. http://picosong.com/a5Xb/
  4. Nice and clean, well blended upper registration. I envy your ability to navigate that range with no tension. Sounds very clean, the musicianship was great with the guitar and vocal harmonies perfect. Good song choice too.
  5. Thanks a lot man, I actually still had the project files so I just removed everything but the guitar and voice original track. http://picosong.com/TKma/
  6. Really dig this track man, dig the gritty and breathy low singing complimented by the piercing high mid range stuff. It's hard for me to pinpoint the influences in here but I could almost say this is some Electric Light Orchestra-esque stuff hahaha. Especially that psychedelic break with the harmonies... reminds me of this: Great job overall man, not really in a place to give you criticism vocally as you are out singing the hell out of me here lol. Btw: really dug the ad-libs you threw in there, sounded genuinely soulful and 70s rockish.
  7. Thank you both very much, REALLY cool to see you stop by as well Felipe I appreciate the hell out of it man. MDEW, I do try to connect and project the story as well as I can but obviously I still am working on conveying lyrical content better and better. In a way it's sort of an acting thing, you gotta really be able to make it convincing. Cheers all
  8. Love it, very beautiful song and you performed it with great passion. Not much advice for me personally to give besides keep it up!
  9. Hey thanks Robert, in hindsight I agree with the criticisms about the double tracking. In the end I was not pitch perfect on both takes so it just messed up a good thing a bit, but I'd be more than happy to work on this tune next time we work together. As far as the picosong thing goes, I don't think they offer an embed link otherwise I'd do the trick you are suggesting. Thanks for your time.
  10. Thanks a lot Ron, and I am very flattered to be considered in your original. If you ever want to lay some lyrics or melody on me in PM I'd be happy to hear it. Thanks for listening.
  11. Yeah the mix could be much better but I'm working with some lo-fi setup right now, unfortunately it's really hard to record good quality piano with my current mic as well which sucks because I'd do more piano stuff if the quality wasn't so average. I got that effect by double tracking the voice like I did in the John Lennon cover, just two separate takes all the way through. And yes I believe I am a tenor in terms of timbre, but my range is so small at the moment I may as well be called baritone haha. Thanks for listening. It's definitely going on the set list.. and when Ron arrives, probably the backyard barbecue jam list as well.
  12. Let's see if we can get some fathers misty eyed hahahaha... really beautiful tune with great lyrics and most importantly for me, very easy in my range. Enjoy http://picosong.com/DzJh/
  13. HELL YEAH man! This is one of my all time favorites... great mix and great feel brother! Seriously carried the song very well, enough so that I was able to jam to it just like the original. Keep up the good work man!
  14. Practice, practice, practice. I've heard your voice in multiple covers, it's well within your grasp man. Find a song you love that is double tracked (a LOT of Beatles songs are) and learn the hell out of it. Get it down to the finest nuance and just keep replicating the take.
  15. Thanks brotha. And of course you could do a double track! If you can sing in pitch for one vocal, you can do it for two.
  16. Thanks for listening guys. I noted that pitch problem you pointed out Jon, thanks. And yeah Ron I have a bad habit of mimicking the original vocal a lot whenever I sing a cover, between that and the fact that I double tracked it like John did I admit it does sound fairly close. Like a 20-year-old amateur John. Thanks again guys.
  17. True to the original, not taking many liberties. Double tracked vocals and distinct nasality. Dedicated to an elusive lady in my own life. http://picosong.com/Dwtx/
  18. Yeah it was a bit whack, I was disappointed that they couldn't get the vocals right in the backing xD. Next time I'm just going to play the music on the acoustic myself and have you record the backing vocals for me!
  19. Ahh yeah Rons, more specifically I wanted to address your critique when you noticed this: What happened was the karaoke track came with set backing vocal for those chorus harmonies and I went through first take and sang the right lyrics and the backing vocals sang the wrong ones. I just said f@(% it and kept going because I was feeling good about that take haha. The end result is a bit awkward and I was hoping some people would catch it for a laugh haha.
  20. Haha, at the moment I sorta feel like the man behind the curtain at the end of Wizard of Oz because there is a lot of editing I did to make this sound somewhat decent. It's not a true blue straight vocal because rather than just singing through the song one track as I usually do I spliced the track and overdubbed all of the harder sections such as "Oowee baby I sure show you good time", "SOME PEOPLE call me Maurice.", and "Well don't you worry baby don't worry" post production Also the backing vocal for the chorus is not me, it came with the particular karaoke track I downloaded which I will link for you guys here so you can see what I was working with: http://picosong.com/tgJt/ So yeah, there was some trickery involved but at least I come clean with details. Thanks for listening guys. *also ronws it would seem that our brisket party set-list is growing all the time hahaha..
  21. Thanks man. I can appreciate that advice, I am glad my pitch wasn't too bad but as you noted it does fall off slightly in a lot of places.
  22. A song that everyone knows. It's a bit out of my range at parts but still fun and manageable enough considering the relative low passages throughout most of the song. I suppose it's stuff like this I should be posting as it demonstrates my singing in a range where I'm learning to improve on.. any advice or criticisms are appreciated. http://picosong.com/t56V/ *the volume is pretty loud so keep your speakers down, or it may blast you lol
  23. Picosong works great as well for a free streaming service but you need an MP3 first to upload. Don't think it takes MP2.
