  1. You have a great voice. This clip didn't show how you would necessarily handle a song with more dynamic range, but it did show that you have the ability to maintain a lovely, even tone and have a good ear for pitch. Your phrasing was true to the original and interesting, do you use it all the time? It may not be appropriate for all songs, but it certainly works for this one and would for a lot of acoustic versions of songs. Overall, I think this was a really nice clip and showed that a lot of your vocal fundamentals were there. Going forward, I would first want to hear you sing something with more dynamic range (louder parts, higher/lower notes, more emotional range) as it would reveal more of your vocal tendencies to me. It's hard to judge, without seeing you, but I think I can hear that you tend to raise your tongue when you sing vowels? I'm a voice teacher, if you were one of my students I would work with you on this on getting you to relax your tongue. Of course, that may just be the way you sound. If so and it's not from tongue tension then keep going with it. You also tend to go a little wide with your vowels on low notes and I would work with you on some exercises that encourage the lovely vocal placement you have at the slightly higher notes to move as you go lower in pitch. If you wish to discuss my feedback further, feel free to message me on the forum or just reply here :) i sometimes miss replies though so a DM might be better. All the best!
  2. You have a lovely voice. It’s raw at the moment but those raw materials are there. You have a nice tone too, with a lovely speaking voice- this is an excellent start. Your sense of pitch is good! However when you do go off I believe there’s one reason...and I’m going to go into it a lot but please please please do not see that as a bad thing. You have a good voice and have the potential to be a very good singer but everyone starts somewhere (trust me you’re further along than I was!!) For you I honestly feel you need to RELAAAAAX! You’re pushing a lot, I can see it in your chest and overall mannerisms. You’re physically moving forward when singing and your hand is in your chest- you’re making sure you’re using you chest voice and your diaphragm is moving, right? Right? Am I right? This is not the be-all and end-all of singing. After you read this I want you to go find Michael Buble singing this song on YouTube and watch his body carefully and pay attention to how long he is holding the notes/words in the phrases. This song should be relaxing, the phrases should be legato and smooth. Maybe you were nervous? Maybe you felt you needed to push to get the sound out, but you honestly don’t! Because you’re pushing your phrases tend to be stilted and punchy rather than elongated and smooth. It’s also, believe it or not, probably making it harder for you to get the notes out in the first place! Tension when singing it what you want to avoid. Good way to start is to speak the song first- literally just speak the lyrics in your natural tone/key as a speaker. This is your golden space for singing where everything else stems from. You open your mouth from there to get a louder sound or narrow it to become more quiet. The way you sing vowels comes into it too but you’ll get to that later. You don’t need to force any sound out - you want a smooth, consistent sound that’s stable and sustainable. Not just in jazz but in all singing. I highly reccommend that you watch some of my vocal coach’s reactions On YouTube, his name is Sam Johnson: https://www.youtube.com/user/squirrelbasher
  3. Hey guys! I posted a few tracks a few years ago and I got a lot of great, helpful feedback that has really helped me with singing, particularly using mixed voice. I wanted to post a song I recently re-covered. I first recorded it a few years ago. here is the new here is the old: Hopefully you guys can hear a difference? And I’d love notes on further things I need to do to improve if anyon me has time? Thank you so much!
  4. Oh no I didn't play xD it's just an instrumental from YT! Glad you liked it
  5. I recorded this spare-of-the-moment. I didn't have much time, but I wanted to record something so I used my spare hour for this xD Feedback appreciated! Skinny Love
  6. This is my cover of Lyn's beautiful track - Miss You... Crying (보고 싶어...운다) All vocals were me. I used the official instrumental that came with the purchase of the album on I-tunes I adore this song and Lyn sings it so gorgeously... ugh >.< I tried really hard with this and hopefully the emotion comes across and people who listen like it I messed up the pronunciation in places, but hopefully it's passable haha.
  7. Yes this is me xD I'm flattered by your scepticism! This song was hard for me, yes. It took a lot of practice and I'm still not 100% happy with it tbh. I wish my voice was just smoother overall.
  8. This is my cover of Ailee and 2LSON's I'm In love from the Re:Code OST. This song is really hard to sing and I tried my best >.< I hope you like it and all feedback/advice is welcome.   I'm In Love
