TMV World Legacy Member fridrix Posted November 21, 2010 TMV World Legacy Member Posted November 21, 2010 I think this is my first critique-me post. In another thread (Artist Development) TMV member Elijah Lucian was looking for vocals to work up into something; I sent him this song I wrote about hiking to Waimoku Falls in Maui: http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_6077346. (I put the conch shell on the same channel as the lead to conserve tracks.) http://www.reverbnation.com/frederickingram
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted November 22, 2010 TMV World Legacy Member Posted November 22, 2010 The tone, and certainly the phrasing of lyrics reminds me of Lou Reed. Haunting, iconic. For my taste, just a preference, I think some of the high notes could have used a little more brightness. But it was a good song and bless you for writing it.
TMV World Legacy Member fridrix Posted November 22, 2010 Author TMV World Legacy Member Posted November 22, 2010 Thanks Ron, this was recorded a few years ago before I knew much about brightness. I must say I've never been much of a Lou Reed fan though. http://www.reverbnation.com/frederickingram
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted November 23, 2010 TMV World Legacy Member Posted November 23, 2010 I didn't mean to offend. I liked Lou Reed's tone, it's like art, I suppose.
