TMV World Legacy Member jonpall Posted January 6, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted January 6, 2011 Hi guys, I just did a cover of GNR's "Patience". Hope you guys like it. Would be fun to hear what you think. I know there is room for improvement but I did my best and hopefully I'll grow to be able to sing it better and better, as with any song. Axl is one my favorite singers, especially on the Appetite for destruction album. http://www.box.net/shared/lpv7lzgdqo Cheers! jonpall.
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted January 6, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted January 6, 2011 You know I had to listem didn't you? Well done. I honestly thought you wouldn't get the tone on the high part from having heard your other stuff but I was impressed. Excellent production values. Sounds like it was recorded in a studio rather than a house or apartment. Bravo!
TMV World Legacy Member Quincy Posted January 6, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted January 6, 2011 I agree. Very well done! Also loved the guitars and stereo panning effects.
TMV World Legacy Member analog Posted January 6, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted January 6, 2011 Damn man...that is a GREAT high rock sound up top(had solid amount of "weight".) Always impressive man.
TMV World Legacy Member jonpall Posted January 6, 2011 Author TMV World Legacy Member Posted January 6, 2011 Thanks guys. I'm practising a lot of GNR songs these days. It would be cool one day to be able to sing lots of those songs in one night and do them justice. I'm not quite at that level yet, trust me, although I seem to be getting better. Cheers!
TMV World Legacy Member staticsound Posted January 7, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted January 7, 2011 Dude, this is good! Beware of middle age men with Justin Beiber haircuts and lip rings...
TMV World Legacy Member akarawd Posted January 7, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted January 7, 2011 You're certainly on the right track. In fact I hear much more weight in your voice than in axl's in the high part of the range. Would you say that's creaking ? https://www.facebook.com/ogregomixmaster?ref=hlhttp://www.ogregomixmaster.nethttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCprgiVsfB0O7dPjWebgu5PA
TMV World Legacy Member jonpall Posted January 7, 2011 Author TMV World Legacy Member Posted January 7, 2011 I think I have slightly more weight at some points in that part because my support isn't perfect there. Not yet. And I'd say it's distortion and not creaking. But I'm no expert at CVT modes and effects.
TMV World Legacy Member Ronron Posted January 7, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted January 7, 2011 I'm not quite at that level yet, trust me You're there enough to me, but I know what it is to want perfection. And I recognise that, though I like it, I'm not a great fan of the genre, so there are things I won't hear. I listened to it twice and enjoyed it. Except for the part where I realized I don't know how to whistle properly anymore, but it has nothing to do with you :p Why aren't days 32 hours long ? <_<
TMV World Legacy Member Chavie Posted January 8, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted January 8, 2011 Damn bro this is very close (to my ears at least) Very nice work !!! www.soundclick.com/chavie
