Why is this in the Vocal Health forum?

Do you think you have a vocal health issue? If so, what do you suspect it could be?

What makes you think that you have not improved over seven years?

Do you have a sample clip of you singing? You can put it on a streaming service like SoundCloud. (Vocaroo is another. It distorts the sound more, but you don't have to register). Then post the link here.

What kind of singing/genre are you aiming for? Classical, pop, rock, metal, rnb, non-Western...?

... What are you practicing? Literally... what are the techniques/workouts that you are doing, how are you doing them and what kind of time commitment are you giving it?

That is where the resolution of your concern starts.

Just heard it. Weekest links on the chain to work in here would be your phrasing (rhythm) and getting a better grasp of the melody you will sing, on a lot of parts it´s just totally off from the song.

Second issue would be that on many parts you attempt to go strong but you are restricted, probably because of how you are approaching the vowels. This song is pretty aggressive so probably it would be a good idea to try to open more the vowels towards oh and eh as a starter to match better what you are attempting.

Study on the song, see if you can get a keyboard and play the melody you want to do on tempo, to a metronome. Work on recalling the melody just from memory.

The problem we have hear is with a CD, tape or online course is that you do it alone and with no one to guide you doing something like scales with out fully understanding this will lead you round and round in circles, Best find a proper teacher that can teach you one 2 one scales on a piano. Once you fully understand what you are doing you will play your own scales your self

You are not tone deaf. If you were it would not sound as good as it does. You are singing the words, which is good but you have not been paying attention to the melody.

Different words or vowels can throw us off pitch. Because vowels have there own quality of timbre within the sound(formant) and tongue position we may not at first recognize that the pitch we thought we were singing is not the pitch that was produced. It is a good idea to check this or practice it by singing scales with the different vowels or singing a single pitch and cycling through the vowels being sure to retain the same pitch.

Tone, energy and style of singing can also throw us off pitch. Tone because the same groups of muscle are used to change tones are the same that regulate pitch. So when producing a tone that is a little darker or restrained we may end up singing a little flat and when using one that is brighter or high energy we may end up singing a little sharp. When using a style of singing that is kind of loose and lazy will sometimes throw off the Breath factor in producing a pitch. Not enough breath and the pitch is flat, too much and the pitch is sharp.

I would work on the melody by itself. Concentrate for a while on just the melody without trying to match the style of singing.

I do like the sound of your voice, I am not saying that you cannot sing. I am just giving ideas to make it better.

The Type of songs you are singing and the style you sing with has an easy going laid back vibe. This is throwing you off pitch. You know something is going on, otherwise you would not have posted this thread. Part of the process is learning to hear when you are off pitch. The way to do this is record the song, or pieces of it, Then listen to it. Pay attention to where you are singing flat or sharp and rerecord with the purpose of fixing those areas.

You have to learn to recognize when you are singing on pitch and when you are not. Singing scales will not help until you learn to recognize when the pitch you are singing is sharp, flat or correct.

I have to do the same thing and so does any other singer. I am in no way saying anything bad. Each song someone sings will have its own challenge. A singer will go through the process of learning the song and which parts need attention and keep changing things until it sounds right.

On the song you linked, you were guessing the melody and trying to fit a modified version of the original. On some points it does fit so being tone deaf does not seem to be the case. I am saying work out exactly what the melody will be before you sing, and have it memorized.

It's kinda like trying to sing a song without knowing the lyrics but instead of improvising something you are still trying to be accurate to the original lyrics, it just has no chance of working out. Nothing to do with a limitation such as being tone deaf.

Like getting the score and playing the notes on a piano and humming or bubbing to them, is that the kind of thing you ment?

An online pitch meter that you can download from an app store is the best thing IMHO. Even if you do not know how far you are off from the note, the meter will always show you on the screen
