I'm having a bit of trouble with high notes. They sound like they're held back. If I do it with a really nasal sound I can do it smoothly, but I'm having trouble translating that back into a normal sound.

The highest note in that song sounds unstable, and I don't know how to fix that. I think I'm also rushing the song a bit, but I'm working on it.

Can anyone give me some tips or pointers on what to do to improve?

Thanks.

There is an innate emotion in your voice that I want to hear more of.

The high notes and the insecurity you feel with them has to do with your breath control.

Right now you are letting out too much air when you sing some of these notes and so you are "pushing" or "forcing" to try and do what your deep energy and emotions want to naturally do with the song.

It's all about communicating those emotions in a free open style and the style has to be uniquely your own.

You will find the power of your unique style as you increase the power of your breath support.

It takes deep lower ab work to let the air out in a thin stream.

It's all about balance between the vocal cord vibrations and how you let the breath out.

Work on breath support and you will begin to find the answers you seek.

I've been working with breath support, and I'm doing a lot better I think!

Especially the highest note in that song, it's a lot better.

I'm going to keep working at it, thanks!

I can hear the difference and so I applaud you and encourage you to keep going.

I loved the emotion in the first one but this takes it to another level.

Congratulations!
