DJDeth
Hi, I haven't posted anything for a while , so I thought I'd share my attempt at this power metal classic - Blind Guardian is definitely one of the best and most innovative bands around, and their singer - Hansi Kursch - is a metal god! If you don't know them yet, you should check them out:) I also wanted to record this to try out a new way of singing high notes that I've recently discovered;) Critique is welcome! http://www.box.net/shared/ei07a8g9pv *The instrumental backing track has been uploaded on youtube by Martini6666666. Thanks dude:)
akarawd
This sounds really close to Hansi's tone, very good. It sounds like you have a nice rasp and quite a powerful voice. You worked out the background harmonies ... that's extremely hard with BG, they're full of them ! Well done DJ, Thanos

DJDeth
Thanks for this positive feedback, it's very motivating! Yeah, it's me all the way through I'm using a 'Hansi' voice that I recently discovered;) - it may sound quite close to him but it always takes a while to find it. But once I'm there, I'm 100% comfortable! Thanos: The vocal harmonies in BG are pure awesomeness!
Olem
Great achievement, nice head voice with lots of twang, you did very well.
Jens
can i perhaps hear a recording of only that high hansi kurch voice? i really think it's a cool style and sound
DJDeth
Thank's Olem:) I am actually wondering if this is really a twanged configuration... I mean it feels connected, but I'm focused more on a vocal fry feeling than on getting the twang sensation as I know it. Jens, you ask for it, you get it:) http://www.box.net/shared/8hgysgtcp6 In some places there are also other vocal layers, but I made the head voice parts more prominent.
