Seems that he teaches the "cry" or "hold" in the passagio

I saw this too are we saying that the CVT hold and the cry/sob are the same thing ?

I like Tony's explanation of doing scales wish my first teacher had made it this simple !

yes, sometimes you just get a person who just has a way of explaining it that it all just falls into place. joy from singingmastermind is like that.

Thank you folks

I did register as a member some time ago but just have not had the time to interact. I am grateful to Rob for creating such a community and am glad to be a part of it.

My number one focus is to help all of you to get rid of the 'break' in your voice. The idea of a 'unified voice' that goes seamlessly from the bottom to the top is very achievable. My mission (alongside Rob's and other very knowledgeable contributors) is to get rid of the notion that this takes a long time.

It doesn't!!!!

I learned the hard way (through poor technique) and then became very experienced (thanks to my wonderful teacher Maureen). With the right exercises, and some routine practice regimes, extraordinary results are possible!

Keep rockin'

Tony

Excellent, elegantly simple website. Bravo on that for the focus is on singing, not gee whiz graphics and constant surfus interruptus with "social website" pop-ups.

I watched your sample videos and sang with you on the scales ( I - III - V - VIII - V - III - I ). Very simple and easy to manage. I had not really considered what my range could do and I find I was singing tenor C quite easily, especially by following your onset, which is subtly easier than it sounds.

And realize that some of my problems have been from pushing to hard and heavy when I should let the resonance handle itself.

Over the years, I have learned to shift the jaw and mouth position to achieve a change in resonance. So, my break didn't feel as noticable but I think it exists somewhere between in the standard area just below tenor C, and that note feels free and easy to me, especially if I am not trying to shout it.

And the whiny pup showed me that passagio can be easier than it seems at first. I think we psychologically trip ourselves up approaching the passaggio (uh - oh, here comes that "problem" area) when it can be transversed by relaxing and not trying to push volume through the region.

Anyway, thanks for being here and thanks, Bob, for inviting him here.
