TMV World Legacy Member LuftWaffles Posted April 17, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted April 17, 2011 I've been going around for a while asking friends for their opinion of my voice for a while, now, but naturally no one will give me any solid feedback. That's why I've come here. So, I was initially a trombonist who played WAY too much in high school (5 music classes a year), but I decided not to major in music, so I switched my focus to my voice, and I've been working on it inconsistently for a year and a half, kind of teaching myself as I went along. So here's a few videos, all Beatles covers, hopefully someone will be able to nudge me in the right direction =P Also, the increased pollen count this year wreaked havoc upon my poor vocal cords, and this is the first time in a while I've been able to get some sort of control over my voice. I Wanna Hold Your Hand - it rushes halfway through. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwJvOruQpj0 Lucy In the Sky http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjyE25bpzjw Hello Goodbye (the ending is terrible =P strangely enough, my higher notes open up in the second half after the C5) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6L5Iav31ar8
TMV World Legacy Member SH Posted April 18, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Share Posted April 18, 2011 Hi there, I didn't have time to listen to all of your tracks. I think you sound really good. You seem well suited to this music. There were a few pitch wobbles here and there, but other than that it sounded good to me. Pitch wobbles were mostly on a suspended note, and it is an extremely common problem. Mostly likely linked to support. You need to make sure there is plenty of air left for those suspended notes, so that you can just let it out evenly and gently for the duration of the note. Well done, the work you have done is evident.
