Broken vocal cords? [Audio]

Hi!

I'll just cut to the chase, I'm afraid I've, more or less, destroyed my vocal cords.

I can sing fine with almost every voice, except when trying to achieve a mixed voice.

I'm not gonna use an euphemism; it sounds worse than shit!

My voice gets out of control, and with a snap (literally) my voice changes note or tone without my intervention.

More often than not I'm able to achieve a satisfactory mixed voice after a while though, but I'm afraid of deterioration; that I'll need to struggle more and more to get there... and finally, not getting there at all.

I've attached an excerpt of a failure:

Perhaps it's hard to tell anything from that, but I'd appreciate your take on it... well, you can spare me the insults. Haha!

Take care!

Steppeth thou away from the vibrato. Shun thee the distortion. Cast out from thine heart the "mixed" voice or middle, or whatever. Embraceth and hold dear the head voice. Surely shall thine breath realign. Concern not thyself of distortion, rasp. Graspeth the clean tone.

And this will not be an easy journey. Easier is it for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a man to change his mind. Verily, I say unto thee, moving a mountain involves less than taking the weight off of your voice.

Go, now, and sin no more.

Hahaha! Can't figure out if you think my english is pretentious and mocking me about it, or if I just commited a cardinal sin; hence the "quote" from the Ancient Bible of Chant!

Anyway, you sound confident in your words, and the message is crystal clear: Don't screw around. Get back to basics, kiddo!

...and that's what I'll do then!

Thanks a bundle!
