Great explanation of Head / Chest

great explanations guys.

i have found you have to get used to and accepting of your voice in head and ct dominant vocalizing. for me it was a psychological hurdle i needed to get over as well, the idea that a "feminine hooty sound" (in time) can become darker and thicker sounding without gripping the hell out of your ta muscles. you have to trust that it will, (again) in time.

i was just starting to get the hang of it and then i got nodules. i'm going to dr. peak woo for a third opinion. i'm seeing a voice therapist now.

Good luck and God's speed, Bob.

get this ron, you'll appreciate this..

1st doctor's diagosis: bilateral nodule less than 1 mm x 1mm

2nd doctor's diagosis: one polyp, wants to do surgery

how the hell is that? why such disparate diagnoses?

well, dr. woo is supposed to be one of the best around here, so i guess i'll know definitively where i stand after i see him.

hoping the voice therapy will help.

Goodness, Bob. I would also vote for the therapy. Anything but the knife, if possible.

As for the hurdle you had to face, bravo for your personal growth. I've never had to face that. I have had no problem letting CT dominate. In fact, jonpall once said I go into head voice "way too early," or words to that effect. And so, when you introduced Frisell's book, finally, since Graham Hewitt's book, I had something that explained even better what it is I do and what I needed to do to refine and strengthen what I have.

Then, again, a number of people may not like my voice but that shouldn't stop them from trying Frisell's method, even just a little bit, if it helps them to learn how to lighten as they go higher.

I hope your voice therapy will do the trick. I've heard of success from others in using CT based therapy to rehab a voice from damage. Primarily from taking the strain of the folds.
