Hey Forum,

Felt like it was about time for another post since you guys were very kind about my previous efforts :D

This track is called My Enemy and is from the same solo project demo titled The Unnamed Faces as the previous track i posted The Sin. As usual all parts were written and performed by myself. Drums are programmed. Any thoughts good or bad about any aspect i wanna hear it!!

Thanks in advance for listening....

Regards

Jonathan

Hi, it was a nice listen, despite it not really being the style of music I like. Overall, it's good, though I wonder if it wouldn't be a bit better if we heard you slightly better. It has something catchy, and surprisingly, a few guitar notes reminded me of the Gathering (1:36 for example. Yeah I know it's weird cause that's really not the kind of music they're doing, probably just the sound of the string. Edit : I remember now, it reminds me of Third Chance). Don't think I have anything to add, neither good nor bad.

4:37 : Nice scream.

Also, fun clip :)

Why aren't days 32 hours long ? <_<

Highly polished. As in, it looks like a professionally produced video with a professional produced music track perfectly synched to it, like one might see on headbanger's ball on VH1 or hard rock night on MTV2. Way above my pay-grade.

Now, I understand the background of your comment on my ballad in another thread. Apples and oranges. cool.

This is so well done, and if I can believe the book I read by the Mixerman, a video like this has had everything done to it, including auto-tune or melodyne.

So, whatcha doing here? You should be out there selling albums.

I like the song, and the video is great too. Your voice reminds me James Hetfield when he sang "Master of puppets". And yet, I also like your final scream

Thanks Jugulator. To remind you of Hetfield on "Master" even a tiny bit is an amazing complement. :D

Very cool! I'm listening on laptop speaker so I can't comment on the mix, but it sounds good from here. I love the song, and the feel. Really nice work. You've got a lot of talent. Great job on the video too.

Thanks Geno, you were spot on with the mix recommendation on my last track so your comments on that would defo be appreciated. after converting the video and uploading to you tube the sound quality is a bit compressed. I may post the mp3 in higher quality so you can hear in a bit more detail if you get the chance but glad you liked the vibe.

Thanks again ronws for taking your time to have a listen. Your use of the word professional to describe the production of both the track and the vid is a very kind thing to say indeed however as everything was recorded, mixed and (my modest attempt) mastered in my bedroom it really is far from pro and i still consider these demos. i only made the vid in the effort that more people would be interested in listening if they had something to watch too.

I don't know Mixerman, i'm sure he's right about many tracks having those effects but i only used mainly compression and of course some stock reverbs and delays from Logic. I hate the sound of auto-tune and of course is instantly audible when its used even if it is subtle like on Chris Cornell's last record :( its not a sound that would work to well on a track like this imo... i've never heard of melodyne, is that also a type of auto-tune?

whats this about Apples and oranges Ron? I hope you weren't offended by any post i made. That certainly wasn't the intention. Any critique i give is only what i think could be improved and of course is only my opinion.

So, whatcha doing here? You should be out there selling albums.

LOL in my dreams :D I'm hear to try and get people who love and have a passion for real music to give as much feedback as they can so that when i take these tracks into a proper studio i can get it as close to 100% as i can without wasting time and of course cash. The truth is that i really wanna iron out all the creases and even if someone tells me look dude that track sucks ass the opinions of people on here really help bring me closer to my goals.

Thanks again

Jonathan
