TMV World Legacy Member Keith Posted September 20, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 20, 2011 Here, you will find me stumbling through Dream On. I actually had to record the first half and take a break as I got fatigued. I have no idea what is wrong with me. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11064731&q=hi&newref=1 www.drop-head.com

TMV World Legacy Member Keith Posted September 20, 2011 Author TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 20, 2011 I think Robert should be listening to the songs I post so he has a head start on my issues for when I start paying him. :) www.drop-head.com
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted September 21, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 21, 2011 Keith, I applaud that you did the Ronnie James Dio arrangement. His was truly inspiring. I first heard his version on my cd, "Not the Same Old Song and Dance," which was an album of various artists covering Aerosmith songs. For example, Ted Nugent did "Rag Doll." You have a Dio kind of voice. I bet you you could swing at "Rainbow in the Dark" and knock it out of the park. I've done that song and enjoy it but I bet you would get a more similar sound than I did, if that's your bag. I have also done "Dream On" in the past. I usually hit the Ab5 that Steven does but cleaner. Mainly because I don't have the same vocal anamoly that he has. Well done, Keith, and bravo. And don't feel bad about doing comp'ing the vocal track in two takes. When I did "Rainbow in the Dark," I had just received the mic I now have from Thanos. I was excited and oversinging and wearing myself out. So, I sang a section, rested. Another section, rested. Third section, rested and exported to one vocal track which comp'd it for me. Then, I sent the comp'd vocal track and the karaoke track to our other member, Snax. And he mixed it for me. If I had your email, I would send it to you and you could hear how it ain't no crime, once in a while, to comp a vocal track.
TMV World Legacy Member Keith Posted September 21, 2011 Author TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 21, 2011 LOL, my email is keith_goehner@yahoo.com I'd love to try rainbow in the dark, but it's a bit out of my range. And with all the issues I have with trying to get into head voice, I'll have to wait on that one. www.drop-head.com
TMV World Legacy Member gno Posted September 22, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 22, 2011 Nice head voice - on C5. Good passagio F4-Ab4 in the chorus. You've got the head voice down. Maybe you just need to practice it on a daily basis. My Music:http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=897808
TMV World Legacy Member Keith Posted September 22, 2011 Author TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 22, 2011 Head voice excersizes! YAY! Sirens? And , I hit a d#5 today... I think thats the highest I have ever hit. Then, after singing for a few hours today, I went to karaoke and sang "Runaway" (Jovi) and Turbo Lover(Priest) Had a good day with it lol. www.drop-head.com
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted September 23, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 23, 2011 Keith, if you can do "Turbo Lover" in the original key, you are going through the passaggio in the chorus. And I think your voice is better than you are letting on. D#5? That's definitely a tenor note.
TMV World Legacy Member Keith Posted September 23, 2011 Author TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 23, 2011 D#5 is the absolute limit - not quit a usable note as it gets very distorted and takes a ton of breath. I think Turbo Lover was tuned down a 1/2 step. Whats my next step in making my head voice stronger? I'm not so much concerned with expanding range until I have strength behind it. www.drop-head.com
