TMV World Legacy Member Keith Posted October 10, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted October 10, 2011 This is me covering an easier Queensryche song (as opposed to the one that I was going to do lol) . Still have a bridging issue in here. See if you can find it! This will prolly be the last one I do for a little while - my school work is piled high and need to get through it. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11123718&q=hi&newref=1 www.drop-head.com
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted October 10, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted October 10, 2011 Well done. Especially the low notes. Those are pretty much out of my reach, at least with any ring or volume.
TMV World Legacy Member Keith Posted October 10, 2011 Author TMV World Legacy Member Posted October 10, 2011 Yeah, I struggled with the low ones. I tried to sing like I wasn't singing over my band lol. Works better I think! www.drop-head.com
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted October 10, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted October 10, 2011 Yeah, I'd probably have to do the low notes like a gutteral growl. At G2, I am at a fry, the folds barely coming together. F#2, my folds are separating and no longer adducting properly.
TMV World Legacy Member Keith Posted October 10, 2011 Author TMV World Legacy Member Posted October 10, 2011 I find that my range is lower during the morning when I wake up, and a LOT higher after I have been awake for lets say 7 hours. So, I recorded this one soon after I got up for fear of not hitting the low notes. Which is most likely why I struggled with the high ones lol. www.drop-head.com
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted October 11, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted October 11, 2011 Geoff Tate does not warm-up all at once but at different times during the day. In the morning, he works on light head voice. Later in the day, some mid-range stuff. About an hour before show time, some lower stuff. Your mileage may vary.
TMV World Legacy Member Olem Posted October 12, 2011 TMV World Legacy Member Posted October 12, 2011 Overall, a very good performance, Keith, your lighter head voice suits this kind of songs.
