Immigrant Song & Stairway to Heaven

So, I worked out this morning for the first time in YEARS. When I got home, I felt like singing some Zepplin - So, I decided to record it.

Great job on both. I really like your tone on "Immigrant Song." I also recorded a version a couple of weeks ago, but yours is better, tonally.

I just realized that in "Immigrant Song" you can hear my voice crack in the high parts, on the way back down lol. So stupid. Why why why do I do crap like that?

"The Immigrant Song." I heard a tint of Jack Black from his performance in "The School of Rock." And I mean that as a compliment. That guy has a voice made of rubber. It stretches any ole way he wants it.

As an aside, I pray for the day when karoake tracks DO NOT have backing vocals on them. I know of at least one case where the backing vocals were in the wrong place and it throws things off kilter.

Anyway. And I have heard your STH cover. Good stuff. I still dare you to do it like Dio. I think you have the voice for that and it would be wonderfully unique.

YEah , backing vocals suck. I'd much rather do my own! Next time I record something I'll give the Dio thing a shot. I also used a studio vocal mic instead of a 58 - which made EQ'ing ...um not hard, but different thatn I'm used to - so there is too much high end in the vocal mix. Now that I know that, next time it will be better.
