Raising the sternum / support / posture

I am still really confused about support/raising the sternum etc.

If I raise my whole rib cage and hold it in that position yes its way easier to sing and all that but then it makes playing guitar a bit trickier so obviously there is a balance between this 'noble' position and raising the sternum enough whilst still being able to play guitar / move around etc.

What do other people do to solve this issue ?

Hi, six20aus: Its not so important that you raise it and hold it, as it is that you stabilize it so that it does not fall/collapse as you sing the note.
