Overdrive
I am trying to learn correct support and now reading through the CVT support section I see this addressed and emphasized many times. When breathing in, the solar plexus goes out while the navel goes in. Is this only weird to me? This is apparently the solar plexus. (Below the ribs?) And the navel is fancy-talk for belly-button. To move your navel in you must move your lower abs in. This means what CVT is saying is when you breath in, your 'upper abs' (not sure how to describe) go out while your lower abs go in. Then when you breath out it does the exact opposite. They are supposed to work oppositively. This just doesn't make much sense to me. This is the first and only time I've ever heard of this. Is it true? Can you guys do this with ease? I'm having a hard time.
jonpall
You're misunderstanding this on at least two levels. First of all, the solar plexus is positioned a bit higher than in your picture. Secondly, it's when you breath OUT (during a sung phrase) that your belly button goes slowly in and your solar plexus goes out (or just feels like it's going out when your belly button is going in).
