Everybody is out of the house today so I decided to crawl out of my shell and butcher one of my favorite songs "Rotten Peaches from Sir Elton" Yea I know it sounds bad but I picked up Four pillars about a week ago so maybe I can make something sound reasonable with a couple months work. I'd like to hear what you guys have to say about it though so I'll have an idea of what I need to work on the most whether it be tone, resonance, support, etc.

On another note this is my first real post so Hi everyone!

I don't have any backing track or whatnot either so I'm just singing from memory or trying to. Only up to the first Chorus.

Anyway here it is please be honest.

Hey Codybby. Well done for recording this and putting yourself out there

i like your voice. kinda gives me a Jack White/ Kings of Leon vibe. I think the best place to start is just with timing. you have really got the feel the beat as your singing otherwise it can just sound all over the place to the listener.

Try singing the song (or any song) again but before you do maybe try 3 or 4 counts of one to four and try to keep this going in your mind as you sing and don't allow the song to go out of time.

Seems a little bit stiff to sing like this at first but the more aware you are of your internal rhythm clock the more you will be able to play with the groove of the song later.

hope that makes some sense.

Thanks for the feedback much appreciated and I assume by timing your talking about between lines? If so I didn't really think about it since theres no music and I would probably feel awkward waiting around but now that I'm aware of it I'll be sure to work on it thanks again.

Alright heres another one I hope its a little better this time around so someone can give me a good evaluation.

The quality probably isn't the best though because I recorded it with my iPhone between me and the computer playing the backing track and I switched to "Your Song" because its really easy to find a backing track for it :)

Anyway Thanks for listening here it is

On the second one, you have some pitch issues. I think what you need to work on is starting from the very beginning and learning breathing, support, and pitch. The pitch may come easy after you get support and breathing down. If, howver, you find that you still have pitch issues after that, then search this forum for how to fix that - there are a bunch of threads on pitch in here somewwhere. If you are serious about singing, get a singing program - or at the very least, take a skype lesson with a vocal coach that knows what they are doing. I have the Four Pillars of Singing - by Robert Lunte (the guy who started this website). If you can afford it, I suggest it. Hope this helps.
