mamablue
Hi I'm new here. I'm 51 years old and have been singing professionally since I was 15 years old. Last year, I lost my rhythm and timing, and my ability to sing lead. I can sing some harmony. I have been to see a neurologist, had mri's, blood test, vocal specialists, vocal therapists, and no answers. I am devastated. When I speak it is hard to understand me sometimes. I don't know how to explain it other than mute-like. If anyone has heard of anything like this, your help is appreciated. Thank you.
MDEW
Did this happen after an illness or all at once or gradually over time?
mamablue
Gradually, and when I went to the ENT she said my vocal cords were perfect so I had been using my voice properly all of my life.
MDEW
I am not a doctor or voice therapist so I cannot give any real advice. Have you been getting enough sleep? Lack of sleep and other mental stresses can effect the body in a lot of different ways. If you had taken a long break from singing it may take a while to get the coordinations back. Do not try to force things. Take it slow with your exorcises. See a medical doctor it may be a symtom of something else. Again I am not a doctor. I am just giving you things to think about.
