These were taken at a festival we played at the other day, of which I sang I know on 'A lie...' there's a couple of dodgy notes at the end, but otherwise I'd love to hear some opinions, especially on the high notes (funny enough I'm somewhat of an 80's metal fan) Cheers! I keep working on being slightly cleaner on my high screams. Problem is if I try too hard I start to do a King Diamond style falsetto rather than screaming. Whilst that's good for....well singing King Diamond, its not really natural feeling to me. I just saw an interview with King Diamond on "That Metal Show." He recently had open heart surgery and they had to put his chest back together with a metal rod. And he had to learn how to breathe, all over again. Essentially, during the surgery, they collapse the lungs to make way for a while. Anyway, he is back into the swing of things and Mercyful Fate is back on the road. Don't get me wrong, I like King Diamond (apart from his live stuff - not heard post surgery but pre it was rare he could hit those notes). Regardless, that kind of falsetto is not necessarily the thing I'm looking to do. Everytime you sing it feels like your on intensitylevel 10 out of 10 it's very good but the screams Will be more effective if you go alittle less intensive before à scream, it becomes alot more dramatic. I'll need to think more about dynamics in the music. The thing is the sort of music that it is more of less means me needing to be 'turned up to 11' the whole time.
