Hello, you guys!

I have recorded three different kinds of sirens where i have tried to change my mode in head voice. Since i am not 100 % sure i am doing right i would like to hear from you what you think and if i am on the right track. I have tried one siren with pure head voice, one with twang and one with falsetto. Here are the links:

For the first two, you are driving just a bit too hard right before you make your switch, so its happening a bit too late in the siren. That is what is making the sudden adjustment happen.

This is not actually falsetto... its not breathy, and I can hear the substance in the tone because of the presence of the full-voice registration. I think this is a tone with well-balanced registration, just without any twang at all. This registration balance takes you right across the change without any audible blip. That is a very good indicator that you've got good vocal coordination in it.

IF you will add a wee-bit of twang to this, I think you'll like what results.

What would be some suggestions for adding twang?

i love the sound of twang..it can really brighten up your sound.

i have found the best way to practice twanging is to literally, and i mean literally, "act" like a quacking duck on steroids. shoot for a nasal quaaaaaaaaaaaaack. you can try "neeeeeaaaaaaaah"

you're shooting for a nasal, brassy, resonance

axel rose is a good example of a guy who uses it a lot.

remember the late paul lynde the comedian?

he spoke in twang and made a career out of using it. hope i've helped.
