Hey guys.

Just got back into pillars, after having sinus issues, and a major cold. I am now in great health, and it feels like I am starting all over again. Feels like almost there is no control on the highs, no closure at the top. Is this normal?

I hope the daily practice will fix this. It concerns me a bit even though I am pretty sure the usual exercises will get my folds back to where they were.

Anyone experience this?

I think Pavarotti said if you skip training for a day you notice, a couple of days your friends notice, a week your audience will notice. It is normal to feel that you have lost control of things.

For sure this happens. Just take it slow on the recovery to avoid getting into bad habits. For example you may start pushing because you want your voice to sound like it did before.

To me, the danger of singing while suffering from a cold is that one can develope habits from compensation for the loss or adulteration of tone and volume. Habits that you later have to work to get rid of.

So, Gilad, whatever technique you think is atrophied, it will come back.
