well, i have to admit..i've reached my biggest rock vocal challenge. i was wondering if you rock folks have had any experience, tips or advce to help me with the chorus of this song. i need to drop down a 1/2 for starters. it's powerful and full voiced with a high tessitura and a power punch. perhaps you've performed it in bands?

here's (another) hearty attempt...(clearly a work in progress)

and here's lou gramm down 1/2 step (used audacity in lower key)

here's what i'm pronouncing to make it though without tightening up

well aaaam hot blo dead (instead of tryig hold on to bluuudid)

chek et annn seee

got a fee vaaah of ahh undread ann thrreee

ca mohn baaabyyy

i hate to give up on it....

please any advice at all..but with me can you please be a little more easier to understand. thanks in advance for your help.

i greatly appreciate it!!!!

VIDEOHERE, I must say that I absolutely LOVED your take! Damn, you sound good. Maybe you should just work on doing what you've been doing but really focus on not constricting the external muscles of your neck, so you can sing like this for a long time? The sound was both cutting and full, with a nice slight distortion, pretty much spot on pitch, with lots of feeling and power and I think you even sound a bit like Lou Gramm, dude :) Don't stop singing, man!

Hi Bob,

If you put that track along with the music and a bit of effects it would sound just as good as any vocal recorded in rock!! It is spot on buddy.

I think Lou uses a bit more distortion in the higher parts for the effects. But, you don't want to be like him, you want to be like YOU.

Do me a favour, record yourself with the background music and then post it.

Definitely Rock on!

You sounded great. And a wise decision to change pronunciation to support the note, rather than sacrifice note just to speak the Queen's English.

thanks so much, but i'm still not happy wih it yet. appreciate it.

Sounds really good man. It sounds to me like you're constricting too much in the throat, or "pulling up chest." Maybe the well-known vocalists just got used to singing like this? Hell I don't know, I can't sing like you :D
