forest_gimp
Hey guys, me again ^^ I have worked a bit on distorsion to have a crunchy voice which could sound cool from time to time in the choruses of my rock band. Here is my attempt : https://www.box.com/s/lczen42m8wftrb7o20ma It doesn't sound like a heavy grit though, it is lighter, and i think many rock singers actually have this kind of smokey rasp coming on. I don't know if it is healthy, but it doesn't hurt. It feels a bit like mixing vocal fry with your normal tone. So i guess what i am doing is creaking and not engaging the false vocal folds? forest_gimp
Thanks, thats what i was thinking too. I wonder how high you can go with this and if this healthy. I am quite sure that many singers are creaking rather than distorting
