I liked it. This is a legit cover. Not just a copy. I saw comments in another thread about your "stage presence." Don't worry about. For me, I am not all that impressed by people that give a grin and a wink to the camera.

You know who else plays guitar and sings and doesn't do rehearsed dance steps? Neil Young, Arlo Guthrie. How about Don Henley? He sings while sitting at a drum kit. And he owns 4 houses, just in Dallas. Usually too busy to "gaze lovingingly" at the audience.

Very nice, emotive singing. Great dynamics especially on the chorus and at the end. Some good licks. This would work well. As a guitarist I was hearing some different guitar comping during the verse - like not so much of the open E string and more of the original moving lines. But this is a singing forum and you do a great job with the vocals.

I would sing this song before. Funny thing is, I would most often sing it when I was with my first wife in the late 80's. She was a pianist and we had a baby grand in the living room. It was the only song I could plunk out on the piano. She showed me the root chord formations and I would reign hell upon it after that.

But Jon, I like your arrangement.

I love the beatles. I also love hearing how other singers approach their songs. I was not disappointed.

You have a nice soulful voice.

Thanks for the feedback as usual guys. i'm pleased you liked it as i really wasn't sure if it worked or not. Some songs just seem hard to change from the original.

your spot on. I will try to refine it as i was just improvising really trying to make it fit with what I was hearing in my head.

Don't worry about.

Thanks Ron, it's something i've always had trouble with as it just doesn't seem to fit my personality. hpfully with more live performances and confidence it may evolve. Your place in the 80's sounded cool. Piano in the living room! i want that. hope you are still having as much fun.

Let me give a sense of scale. It was a 2-story condo, total of 950 square feet. The piano occupied the living room. The only place to sit was the adjoining dining room, suitable for a cafe table and a few chairs.

Upstairs, in the one of two bedrooms, was my acoustic guitar, my Memphis Les Paul copy. my Hondo Flying V copy, and my Fender 85 amp (200 watts, rms.)

Cramped, but cozy. The neighbors next door would turn up their stereo to play dance music. So, I would turn the amp toward the wall and blast either "Cat Scratch Fever" or "Snakeskin Cowboys" by Ted Nugent,
