Love this song. This song pushes the limits of my chest voice (without mixing). Yes, I sang the womans part in the chorus - felt empty without it.

Love me some Kamelot. I love the vibrato in your voice.

One thing with the harmonies, it seems like the higher vocals cut into the melody a little bit and shift the focus from the melody to the harmony. Other than that it sounds pretty solid.

I like it and it suits you well. I was hearing similarities of melody and arrangement between this and the Drop Head stuff. So, this is "in your wheelhouse."

I think Dave's point about the harmony vocals and "woman's" part seeming more prominent in the chorus is a matter of mixing. The higher notes are more focused and cut through better. So, dropping them back in the mix would change that. Unless the prominence is desired.

Keith, can you appreciate how ironic it is for me to be offering you editing advice? Just who do I think I am?

Sounds good - the vocals were very solid. Sound to me that you were mixing, getting a thicker sound up on those Ab4's especially early on.

Maybe, felt like I was at my threshold though.

Keith

I liked this, well done.

I've never heard the song before, it's great. Where did you get the backer? I fancy giving it whirl myself.

Found it youtube - so I played it, ran the audio into an interface, back into my computer lol and sang the primary vocal track. Then added the background stuff. Here is the link to the real song.

So I made a start....

I love the original, but I sound nothing at all like that guy. I wish I did, but I sound like me instead.

I'm so far off the original, I'm not sure whether to finish it. My approach has a certian uniqueness LOL!

The song is very hard. Just sing along with it like for a year like I did lol. You have a good start. You'll get all the nuances over time.
