TMV World Legacy Member youngbuck Posted September 28, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 28, 2013 Hey guys, I've been lurking this forum for a while and figured I'd ask what you think of my vocals. Now that I've made an account I'll try to be an active part of the discussion around these parts, so hi
TMV World Legacy Member MDEW Posted September 28, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 28, 2013 I like the rasp you are using. You seem to have the attitude for it. I don't think that I can give any tips to help you progress at this time. Welcome to the forum. :) "You need a strong foundation to reach the heights."
TMV World Legacy Member youngbuck Posted September 30, 2013 Author TMV World Legacy Member Posted September 30, 2013 Thank you very much sir! I've been told I've got the voice for this sleazy rock stuff for a while now, I certainly have a passion for it! I'll have to post me singing something not so "rawr" later
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted October 1, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Posted October 1, 2013 I really liked ya'll's arrangement of this. Something fresh and new. Kind of the aggression of Danzig but the poetic sensibility and improvisational skills of the Doors. Keep doing stuff like this. In fact, have you tried some Doors' covers? I bet you knock those over the wall and into someone's windshield, to borrow from baseball.
TMV World Legacy Member ronws Posted October 1, 2013 TMV World Legacy Member Posted October 1, 2013 By the way, as an aside, I often saw similarities between early Danzig and the Doors. And Glen sounded a lot like Jim on that breakthrough album. Sure, "Mother" was the big hit. But listen to the rest of that album and you would swear Glen was the long lost love child of Jim Morrison. Your voice is a little more edgy, in a good way, and I think you should stay with this vibe. You sound natural. Me likee, a lot.
