TMV World Legacy Member colin040 Posted March 18, 2014 TMV World Legacy Member Posted March 18, 2014 These days I feel like covering more songs so I thought of giving this song a try. Excuse me for the mistakes and the timing isn't exactly on I'm sure. Anyway here it is: http://picosong.com/e52U/
TMV World Legacy Member wabba_treads Posted March 20, 2014 TMV World Legacy Member Posted March 20, 2014 Hey man, Nice effort on this song! You have a pretty strong mixed voice sound already, what you have to watch out for/listen to is your pitch, at times it was shaky. A lot of the vowels are really tricky and a few times you struggled with a few of the higher notes, but thats understandable because this is Robert Plant we're talking about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5A12KbW4vPQ This live version might help you out on some issues. Notice that Robert Plant modifies the vowels at the chorus " haaven ah nahvas braekdawn" Sounds like gibberish saying it out loud but when your wailing whole lines in the E5-F5(!) range it helps to ease some tension. Try modifying the vowels like Rob does, it might help you with potentially really stressful consonant sounds. Keep working at it, You'll get there, I promise! Cheers, Wabba
TMV World Legacy Member Adoney Posted March 20, 2014 TMV World Legacy Member Posted March 20, 2014 Hey Colin You gotta pay closer attention to Plant's tonality on the original, and make sure you are expressing everything with the same emotion, too.
TMV World Legacy Member wabba_treads Posted March 20, 2014 TMV World Legacy Member Posted March 20, 2014 I just wanted to add that you gotta take a little time to perfect your diction and that'll make the lyrics a little clearer. Its all good though because english might not be your first language and perfecting pronunciation as well as vowel mods are both tricky. *Edit Don't worry about your accent either some singers are famous because of it (I.E Klaus Meine)
