TMV World Legacy Member Elizax Posted April 25, 2014 TMV World Legacy Member Posted April 25, 2014 Hi guys, my last post was deleted with the mistake. So I haven't mastered head voice or vibrato yet but I just wanted to know vocally how I was developing. Please be as critical and honest as possible http://www.smule.com/p/53551511_38388112 http://www.smule.com/p/87647893_38403945
TMV World Legacy Member Javastorm Posted April 25, 2014 TMV World Legacy Member Posted April 25, 2014 I think your timbre has this dark, contemplative quality that really suits both songs, but especially "Young and Beautiful". It almost sounds like a Florence Welch or Dolores O'Riordan-like soul. I loved how your voice held on to the rhythm of the piano in every phrase. At 2:16 in "Young and Beautiful", and at 3:40 in "Love the Way You Lie" there's this great, almost Celtic cry in your voice as you switch modes from chest to head that works really well. The head voice that you were using before that sounded perfect as well. In these songs I don't think you needed to worry that much about vibrato, but even then at that moment in Love the Way You Lie I heard traces of a really unique vibrato still developing. I thought both were excellent vocals. :) "The journey in between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place." -B. De Angelis My SoundCloud
