Hi, do you guys notice that whenever chris cornell does his screams, his throat goes into two lines. I think it's cool haha, but how come its that way? I thought there was always this thing about having no throat tension. His voice is super sexy too how does he achieve it?

I personally dont think anyone can scream like that without having their neck veins bulging out a bit. Just because certain sining takes a great deal of effort does not mean it has to kill you. I get it all the time and all of my favorite singers has it going aswell. There is a lot of air pressure on those notes and the effort to hold that air back will show.

I agree. I like doing similar sounding screams and the effort required is from holding back the air flow not from actually gripping the throat. Of course from the audiences perspective it looks like the singers throat must be ready to explode! lol

True that. It's easy, at least for me, to let forth with a blast of air. It is, as I have been learning, more benefical and also more challenging, to ease back on the air pressure and the difference is subtle. But, I guess, on some, it might look like a strain because of what the muscles are doing to configure the pharynx, as well as the resonating cavity or cavities.

also some singers have thinner skin and leaner necks so the vascularity is more noticable.
